Hell yes, I'm so excited! Maybe they'll announce a date so I can secure a preorder.

Hopefully they will give a release date (Estimating late autumn to winter), I need this game on my Wii U.

Same. I'm a bit disappointed that it isn't a continuation of Shulk's story, but after seeing the trailer with a member of Riki's species in it, I have a little hope!
I asked to be notified by GameStop when the preorders come out, hopefully it'll be tomorrow.

Uh, I heard this was a Japan-only Direct. At least, that's what NeoGAF and Gematsu were reporting. >.>

New info, quoting from the British "Metro" newspaper:

Quote:
A new Nintendo Direct has revealed online quests and item trading for Xenbolade Chronicles X, as Xenoblade Chronicles 3D gets a US release date.

Wii U game Xenoblade Chronicles X is out in Japan on April 29 (and available for pre-loading today), and yet up until now we’ve still known very little about what is one of the best-looking games on the console.

A new Japanese-only Nintendo Direct has opened up a bit though, revealing a that the game has four-player online quests and 32 player ‘indirect online’ – which sounds like a sort of in-built discussion forum where you can exchange information and trade items.

How extensive the online quests will be is unclear, but it seems as if the main story campaign will still be primarily single-player only.

Still, it’s a welcome feature in what looks like an extremely ambitious (and extremely pretty) Japanese role-playing game. You can see the whole Direct below, but it clarifies that the game world is made up of five continents: Primal Wilderness, Luminous Forest, Forgotten Canyon, White Tree Continent, and Black Steel Continent.

You’ll be able to travel across land, air, and sea by foot or using transforming robots, while a ‘Hopper Camera’ is available at any time to give you an aerial view of the landscape.

In Japan a Wii U hardware bundle will be released, including a copy of the game, a unique ¥1,000 (£5.50) pre-paid eShop card, a map, and an artbook. There’s no suggestion yet if it’ll be released in the West, and indeed we’ll be interested to see how much effort Nintendo Europe and America put into promoting the game.

[User Posted Image]

So far the game has no Western release date, but it has been promised for sometime this year.

Confusingly Xenoblade Chronicles X isn’t a direct sequel to Wii game Xenoblade Chronicles in terms of story, but the original game is being ported to the New 3DS. In fact it’s currently the only announced game that will run only on the New 3DS.

At the same time as the Japanese Nintendo Direct Xenoblade Chronicles 3D was given a US release date of April 10. As well as confirmation of new StreetPass features and compatibility with the Shulk amiibo (good luck getting a hold of one of those).

There’s no European date yet though, and Nintendo dates can vary quite a bit between American and Europe.

They're actually putting amiibo support in Xenoblade 3D? I mean, I guess I shouldn't be too surprised. Pity Nintendo decided not to put Xenoblade on the Wii U eShop. I'm guessing it would have been a bit to big by their digital download standards. <.>;

How is it confusing that Chronicles X isn't a direct sequel to the original? It's a spiritual successor, using the brands name due to fan popularity.

In contradiction to my previous comment about big downloads, for any of you thinking about downloading Xenoblade X on your Wii U, I hope you don't want that many digital games, because it's apparently 23 GB. ;>.>

Maybe the Amiibo compatibility will spur a rerelease of the Shulk Amiibo like what the Fire Emblem ones are to be receiving due to Code Name STEAM.

Apparently GameStop is cancelling preorders already since they don't think they can meet demand. >.>

Yeah, Shulk is gonna be hard to find. If you can get him for cheaper overseas, definitely import.

I had preordered it awhile back. But I guess I'm not going to know anything for certain until next week. I'm just bummed the Xenoblade port is on the New 3DS. I'm not shelling out money for that, but I missed its original release since I was still at boarding school. And Wii copies are too pricey. Plus I don't own a Classic Controller. <.<;

Depends when you preordered, and to where. If you chose ship to home, it should have already shipped out.

Amazon has them for 50 USD less right now, that's why I used all of my paycheck ordering it.

I want that map and artbook. I hope they'll be available here- without having to get another Wii U in a console bundle, although I'd still be happy for that since it would make the price lower and we'd still get an English version of the map and book, albiet limited- but I'm not holding my breath.

I just looked over the boxart for X again, and it looks like that game won't be packing any amiibo support. Doesn't exactly surprise me. >.>
