What to do hold out and hope for half price diggs or buy one or more of the others?

Diggs is a once in a blue moon mole . Spending 350 on a Ninjini Hut wont hurt too much while you wait for February 14th . Diggs might show up then .

Diggs is great, but you never know when he's be available next. And when that happens, he may be available and on sale, or simply available. So I wouldn't put my game on hold waiting and hoping.

I am a huge fan of the houses/huts. Cost nothing to use, and periodically give out gems. Hot Head, for whatever reason, goes up to 8 gems instead of the usual max of 5, so if you get some and not all, I recommend that one over the others. If it were me, I'd buy as many huts as I could afford.

usually, yes.

and for the most part, the trick to remember on things like companions and building that are always available is not to buy too quickly, because there is usually a sale.

but when things are for sale (and not usually available) - discounted or not, buy them if you can afford them. It is hardly never worth holding your gems 'JIC'

Diggs is worth holding out for, but he's normally 2000 gems. Without huts and other gem producers, your friend couldn't get 2k gems quickly enough for a V-day sale....

So I say HotHead's house and a couple others. That is what we spent our gems on first. We started with giant huts and specialty houses late summer--and we didn't get Diggs until THanksgiving weekend sale. But we were easily making 80 gems a day with all our giants working

She is really desperate for space.

Isn't it expensive gem-wise to upgrade to sanctums? That's not something I'd do until after I got Diggs, that's for sure.

Sanctum purchases should be a late game luxury for those with a solid gem income, because they're expensive and provide no increased gem production.

If she's desperate for space she's probably better off ruthlessly culling some of her low-mabu producing buildings, those tend to be the ones that stick around and take up space unnecessarily.

Right. Get rid of any houses that are more than 2x2 for starters.

I third the "cull houses" advice as well as community buildings apothecary and below. Seriously just store them. Also sell any decorations that arent worth gems or whatever and rearrange for more space

Start culling 1 - 3 percent xp decor too .

Did not know that you can put Minis in Giants houses.

Have Diggs, have all companions but Tessa Rufus Chieftess Avril Batterson and Zap and Spyro fans.

Can fill almost all Sanctuary/Sanctums with L15 swap/trapmasters as many times a day as I remember to do.

Do I grab sanctums or load up on giant houses?

Guess I need to upgrade storage soon too, I only have stuff I've won in it though have sold all decorations below 3% and most of the 3% I've won lately.

Been holding off on buying more housing, rather try and boost mabu with bed n breakfasts in the well but only 1 so far, next alter ego weekend or similar I'll dump 2k stones I guess.

Been meaning to ask about layout and decoration planning, which buildings or houses to make certain to maximize bonus xp for? Bigger xp buildings that harvest more rarely or ones that cycle quicker but lower xp? I check in 3-4 times a day most days

I remember someone here had a spreadsheet that detailed which buildings gave depending on how often you collect.

I use the bottom 3 island for XP Leveling. Eon, Christmas Tree, spooky tree and sheep topiary
I move my buildings and Christmas tree around to the high buff areas. takes a few mins but well worth the max XP gains.
Had to restart the game because it got corrupted in Oct. Its taken me 3 months to get back to level 44 almost to 45 now. sitting at 80%atm and taken me 5 days.
2x2 = 304%
2x3 = 344%
3x3 = 380%
3x4 = 420%
if you have me on Activate you can see what I mean.
Just bought the 4 Sanctums today and will redo my island once I get to 45.

Well she has deleted her final stone slab house. Has only acorn, boat and wood stack houses plus the B&Bs of course. She has deleted 2 apothecaries for now.

She only has +3(6) decorations and above. This includes a good sprinkling of blossom trees from the well. No luck snaring master Eon and she can but dream of getting all the topiaries.

The game was started after you could not have friends. Interrupted by computer probs and no access to the email address for four months. It is registered.

How can she register friends without annoying her Facebook friends? I have tried searching for her email address and ID with no luck. We have double checked her privacy settings.

I'm making similar decisions. I need most of these giant houses but also still need the earth/life sanctums. I know the houses are the better option but I don't remember seeing the sanctums on sale before. May grab one, then pick up 3 or 4 houses with what's left.

Yeah it's a tough call when you can get 7 of the 8 available houses at a swoop and maybe the 8th if your gem income spikes, or 2-3 sanctums.

One of these days I'll do a mass sell off and reorg of my islands they're a mess. I still have 2 huts out.

Lucky Packet . Expect anything or even nothing . Black Friday 2013 was pretty sweet . Black Friday 2014 was non existent . I suppose that is part of the fun .

If you see a 75 percent discount on anything before V day do that first .

Well there are LOVEly surprises coming our way...

Changed my mind. I bought snap shot and every giant house available. 6 houses total - I had been saving for a while. Now only 450 stones left. No chance to get back to 900 in time for a sanctum. Happy to have all these new houses though. Guess now I'll just start saving again...and again...and again.

I don't know...with all those giant houses. the first collections are usually max gems. You might be surprised at how many you can get!

There weren't any valentines specials last year. They went a few months (February-April) without updating the game. We expected it to be the same, this year. Luckily, we were wrong. There might be a Valentine's special, this year, but there was nothing last year.
