So, I was warned a few months ago by dark52, to not mini-mod anymore. But I still see a few other users who are mini-modding (one of which is taking it way out of porportion) and apparently they're getting away with it. I don't know if dark is even aware of this, or if he only wanted to give me a warning and not others who are mini-modding.

Same as every post/thread asking for rule clarifications,guess we're not getting any explanation.

I do believe it's not allowed. I was nearly banned for doing that and this was back in 2006/2007 when the site had about 1% of the active user base it does now. For my take, if it does seem like you think someone's being harsh with criticizing other users, report it as harassment or "other." <.>;

In my opinion, dark52 has started slacking way too much and has started letting people away with things he would have made a deal out of in he past. He sure seems to be biased and sure as hell doesn't give a damn about the site anymore other than to update on any Skylander's news. I don't care if he sees this and wants to ban me, but I think he has become one of the worst and most hypocritical admins I have ever seen.

Worst? Definately not, sometimes silence is better than 'everything will be just fine even if I'm cutting off contact with all of you' that I've seen in a few sites, but this is really getting all over the place. Rules that were a ban/gnorc in sight? Totally fine now as long as you insist on it. Argue enough or contest a decision? Posts removed for Off-Topic/Trolling. This entire forum begs for an update but here we are, the only new thing are super annoying Curse ads that make me thankful I'm using Adblock.

If that's really the case, I would lose all hope for this forum since it's being managed by this sort of person who values Skylanders 24/7 and not the userbase. Skylanders this, Skylanders that. Geez.

He would quickly ban a porn troll, even a spambot, but not existing rule-breakers?

Banning bots and NSFW is admin 101. It's the same as most forums out there if that's the greatest modding. Mods don't use bots themselves(like in twitch to erase certain links) because they're here to evaluate and keep fights and bickering from getting out of hand, not clean up only the biggest mess.

Yet despite the mods trying to keep the peace, the rulebreakers always come back and start it up again and again whenever they desire. And a certain someone is simply allowing this to escalate in favor of updating on anything Skylanders, from his own walkthroughs, news topics, polls, to posting on Skylanders topics about content finds...

Really, ever since Skylanders Spyro's Adventure came out, but dark's actions previous user's speak of have been becoming more frequent since around October of last year, and has become more common as the month's go by, I'm not complaining, but do say I see the faults other user's speak of,~

Wait, you know what it is? He's still afraid of fandom flamewars.

Not fandom flamewars. His actions have been affecting places that have nothing to do with Skylanders. It's just that it's the only section he seems to give bigger attention to.

If there's a user who's trolling another user excessively, he updates on Skylanders polls. A user who has been given warnings by mods, yet still does the rule-breaking spree, dark simply updates and posts on Skylanders news instead of taking action.

I've sent dark a PM about other users mini-modding after he had warned me, and as expected, no response from him whatsoever. Seriously, if you're going to warn me about not mini-modding, at least have the sense to warn others who are doing it too instead of being supposedly biased.

Isn't the "report" button how one is supposed to report posts?

Thank you, your exactly right. Once dark picks the new mods this won't be a problem.

Mods can only do so much, it's the admin who has to get involved when a situation has been out of hand for too long.

That's why IMHO we need a leed moderator.

And the real problem is way out of the mods' league. If the rules are unclear, they have to judge based on what happened before or what they see written, and they themselves already expressed concern on that. But guess not, time to turn a blind eye on some users, be mod-happy on others, and spend more time reporting Skylanders news than keeping the site up-to-date.

Nope, love both franchises equally. But before any of them, the forum should be prioritized. If it was news of some game's remastering or the now-cancelled movie, I'd still be concerned since time is spent with topic posts other users could handle while rules keep requiring updates and the topic loading error keeps affecting this place.

I've been seeing an uptick on mini-moderating on the Sky forums. Any chance this can be addressed?
