So yes, it seems like sales have been poor. However, it's not hard to imagine sales being much better if the exclusive was at TRU.


This product setup isn't at all stores. On the two or three I've visited they have been out on the floor but placed high...YMMV but yes a place where there's a bunch of plastic empty game cases doesn't make the best location for skylanders.


Yes, I saw the today, ad they were sitting on the two highest spots of a shelf.

I even looked at them in a bad way and said "Oh, sure, no Light and Dark Packs, but those Eon's Elite are warming the shelves... Grrrrr". smilie

I would rather pay $30 for one of the new expansion packs & use it rather $25 for something to sit around collecting dust.
Some complain about the cost of the Light/Dark Expansion packs, but look at the mathematics of it:

1 Trap Master (average price:$15)
1 Trap (average price : $5)
1 new level ($10)

Now I can understand if the new packs suffer what I call "The MoM Syndrome". You pay too much for a small level. I loved Sunscraper Spire because it was challenging. Midnight Museum was cool due to the pinball areas, but it really didn't have a lot of villains.

Yes, I love both Sunscraper Spire's mood and gameplay.

I'm more a "Dark" guy, but that level really sucked me in.

And, traps should be 7$, not 5, so, it's even more convenient.

Never complained for that price, as the Adventure Packs cost around 25$, and "only" give you a Core, two Magic Items (I think traps are much more worth the price) and a new level.

This guy on eBay claims that he will be fired if it is mailed before 2/1/15. Either he is full of it or that is the release date. Seem some others have been found on west coast and one report on east coast (US). The hunt is on folks. smilie

Yeah from what I recall there are only two or three ambush areas, the rest is getting from A to B. I love Sunscaper's design better, but love Midnight more from an aesthetic perspective. Both are worth the money, but I think it's still justifiable to note the higher cost as another "Test bed" for Activision's future packaging policy. Given they gave us new levels, unlocked content in game etc and it's a success, I suspect we will see something similar in upcoming games. Just don't be surprosed if there's a new "mystery element" in future games...and at $30. Not sure about others, but I've not been a big fan of the magic item "filler" pieces in adventure packs. VV made adventure packs MUST HAVE content in Swap Force, but it's clear after playing the levels that the Trap Team adventure levels just aren't worth the cost of entry--in my opinion.

But back on this valentine's variant: I expect the stores to have enough, and I suspect there will be little buyer interest. I fully expect to waltz in pretty much any store on 2/1 and buy this. Yawn.

They could have helpers to "buy" the item to justify the cost...and then like lemmings in come the suckers. I've seen all the tricks.

There are always the 0.01% of collectors who must have them all and also have them first where money is no object. Happens with every hobby where people pay absurd amounts to be among the first to own an item and not have to hunt around. Let the 25-50 sheep which fall into this category be dumb and throw their money away. And let those who find the figure first in stores capitalize off of them.

Just went to Toys R Us this morning and they have these in the back. The guy working, who I have known for a few years, scanned these and the sale date popped up as the 7th of February. He would have sold me one if he could.

Does it bother you that much that people want to buy the figures? It's like you don't want the game to sell. Winterfest Lob-Star is semi rare and he hasn't been out that long. I expect the same results with this one.
