Apparently we do, you seem to be enjoying it so far smilie

Ignoring the now hugely powerful Eon's Elite, Series 2 Whirlwind would be on my list. Her Wow Pow is awesome making her my go to Skylander for arean challenges.

Interesting that you mention Fire Kraken. I seriously need to spend a bit more time using some of these Skylanders instead of going back to the same ones each time. I can't recall being that impressed with Fire Kraken.

All of the Trap Masters. Or, more accurately, all of the Trap Masters I've played as.

If you chose the right path he is op and you're probably not good with him and I am so that is that.

Honestly, the only Skylander- outside of SA- who I'd say is truly overpowered (not just particularly powerful) is SF Bumble Blast. He's the only one who makes me say "what the hell did they think when they made him this strong without more prominent weaknesses?" Bumble Blast's biggest problem is his speed, but even then he's not cripplingly slow and has great defense. Also, with his crazy range it shouldn't be a problem- all you have to do is walk around enemies and mash the attack button.

There's certainly more Skylanders that stand out for their power, I'm just annoyed with the overuse of the term "overpowered" that I see in gaming communities lately.

Agree.

Too many strong characters are starting to be called OP, in games (seriously speaking, not like when you are talking to a friend).

For example, in my opinion Krypt King IS strong, but he's not OP (at least with the path I chose, the sword one), because he's still slow, when moving.

Bumble Blast... No.

Just walk around, cover enemies in honey and spam the bees.
Total annihilation. smilie

Have you tried him on his honey path...? smilie

Summoning a STUNFISK
1. Go to a beach - 2. Fall flat on the ground - 3. Recite Stunfisks fart-cry
4. Flop 618 times - You have a STUNFISK!

I like these topics personally, but when I hear "OP", I think 'game breaking' or close to it, characters who if there was a tournament, everyone would pick - or would be banned from the tournament (think Metaknight in the last Smash Bros game).

Drobot - OP.
Bumbleblast - OP.
Double Trouble in the first two games - OP.

Then you have your 'close' to OP characters like S2 Hex or Fistbump or LobStar or S2 Stealth Elf - all do something ridiculously well, but aren't full blown 'I WIN' buttons (literally, the top three can win by holding one button or spamming one button). The characters can be just as effective, but require work to be 'OP'.

I've seen Gearshifted mentioned multiple times by multiple people, but I have yet to find her even slightly effective outside of "Trap MAsters do more damage". What am I missing?

Her fragment mode path, has a similar rapid shot as drobot but also throws explosive mines everywhere

I love Gearshift, but only after I switched her to the Dual Mode path. I love spamming those big golden gears and then rolling/dashing around while the gears block enemy pathing and kill them. She's my favorite new character.

I personally classify "OP" as 2 kinds of categories. Theres "True OP" which is just sheer, almost absolute power due to overall stats/aspects/mechanics, and then theres "Theoretical OP" which would mean abusing certain stats/aspect/mechanics to reach some semblance of being over-powered, but said attributes don't contribute enough to the whole to make it "True OP".

To me, the "True OP" in this game are a small few as Skylanders seem a bit more well rounded throughout this time around. The only characters I feel are truly over-powered are the Eons Elites, and Bumble Blast. EE's are self-explanatory, BB however wont seem OP to some. Yes, he lacks speed but he makes up for it in his ability to use homing ranged attacks, and a debuff that can slow enemies, and make them take more damage from him. All you have to do to kill anything is run around them, or get on a ledge and shoot in whatever direction you want.

"Theoretical OP" would be something like Chopper. He's got homing, and flying which gives him very obvious advantages. Using his homing alone can be enough to down just about anything by himself, even Kaos. This "in theory" makes him potentially OP through the use of only 1 ability overall, however Chopper sports an abysmal rate of fire, and damage that is not very impressive. Due to this, using Chopper to "OP" your way through something would be more an exercise in monotony, and probably make you reconsider even bothering to keep using him.

Most characters are perfectly capable of being usable to a good extent in any given situation, its just those particular 9 that seem to overly succeed in everything by comparison.

Is EE Terrafin that good? I haven't tried him yet, but used the S2 version for a little, and he still has no good ranged options and his burrowing is nerfed horrifically.

I haven't tried GR in Trap Team honestly, but they nerfed him so hard in Giants and SF. In the first game? He was just abusable, but he got nerfed and nerfed and nerfed.
