It's way too soon to make remakes of SSA and Giants... wait until it is 10 years at least.

"NOPE"
As it stands, they've made a bunch of changes since Giants like jumping that age the game faster (try playing 007 on the N64, it's not the graphics that's horrible, you couldn't jump, and movement in general sucked).
The real reason to make a remake is growth in technology, they make HD Remakes that are still on the shelves like Tomb Raider - why? To bring it onto Next Gen. If I was talking about a wide release on PS3/X360/Wii - then you are right. I'm saying the re-release should ONLY be on PS4/XBOne. I mean being frank, the game looked very 'meh', early on due to the "Wii handicap" - we can say 'forget about it' as that was essentially (hardware wise) 2 generations ago as the Wii is just a Gamecube with motion controls. So bring the game(s) to modern graphic engines, bring the new characters back in time, but you do need to remove jumping (sorry) as it would alter puzzles and elements of the game, crank up difficulty, offer S1 characters as variants to increase interest, and BOOM! Digital enchiladas...

AND Wii U. There'd be a bunch of pissed fans (Me, Arc of Archives) who would want SSA Wii U. I know SSA is on Wii U in Japan, but that's not gonna come here ever. they shouldn't alienate Nintendo consoles.

Also jumping would not be removed. As I said, there are quite a few Skylanders now that have attacks that'd involve jumping.

Anyway, do you think we'll get both SSA and Giants or only SSA? How likely do you think it is over all we'll get a SSA/Giants remaster?

Hey is there anything you want me to bring for the rest of the week and if so it’s so cool that you can do something and just do it like that

Kinda off-topic, but my local Target never got a single amiibo after wave one (according to some people who work there, anyway). That's just absolutely horrible stock. Thank goodness I can order what I want from EB Games... Except they ran out of Meta Knight preorders the day I wanted to set one, and I decided I wanted Dedede, but probably won't get him because there's no preorder stock besides Bowser! Argh! I've been looking for another Diddy Kong, one Samus and a Link, but no dice... Can't even order them online (but luckily, you can get the Smash Collection Bowser there... Along with Mario and Pikachu and nobody else)...

Still, the releases aren't repulsively slow like Skylanders (we actually get some stuff early). We're still waiting for four things from wave 2, and wave 3 was split in half, and even Nitro Krypt King arrived late. God. You should have seen SWAP Force- it was unbelieveable how everything post-December was split up a month apart, how we couldn't get a Sneak character until February, how Legendary Night Shift wasn't out until February, how we got the last wave two months late and it was split with the Trap Masters coming out two weeks after Scratch and the reposes, and how we never got freakin' LightCore Bumble Blast.

Maybe I sound impatient, but the figure releases get worse and worse here with every game, and it's making me lose interest because there aren't that many characters I'm still excited to play once I've gone through all the levels a few times. I bet we won't get anything until February, and when we do it'll either be the Wave 2 stuff we should've had months ago, or the Trap Masters (but not Cores) from Wave 4. And Love Potion Pop Fizz because for some stupid reason the variants are the only things we get on time.

I own a Wii U and I struggle to lump it with PS4/XBOne *slight rant, but not really* - being blunt - the wii U barely holds it own with the 360, doesn't keep up with the PS3 - so it's not even in the same league as the new brothers to the neighborhood. I admit, the 'gimmick' - I really like - and wouldn't mind it getting a 'remastered' edition, but the focus should really be on the PS4 and XBOne.

Remastered should also be both SSA and SG.

Yes, but they shouldn't alienate fans. It'd should be on all three consoles.

I'm honestly surprised given Trap Team's lukewarm reception. If anything, this disappoints me a bit. Rather than have to fight to stay relevant and truly make their games great, they now know they can keep going with what they're doing rather than innovate. And when I say innovate, I mean actual innovation rather than these half baked gimmicks every year.

I think they're smart enough people to realize that they can't just relax and give us complete garbage, though. They read what people say, and I do believe that the development teams work hard. The games have added features over the years, and the gameplay always feels great to me; it's the main reason I enjoy the games. I love putting it on nightmare mode, throwing a random character on the portal, and seeing how well I can do. You could get a different gameplay experience every day of the year with Skylanders. As far as innovation goes, what could Skylanders do that nobody else has done, and why would Skylanders want to do something unique? I want it to continue to be the same game with new modes of play. Expand on Kaos mode. Add new challenge modes. Allow online play. I mean, innovation can be a really bad thing if it's done just for the sake of being different. Look at the Nintendo Virtual Boy. Innovative and terrible.

A couple things worth pointing out. The fine print repeatedly states that sales figures include toys and accessories. My guess would be that accessories anything that could remotely be called an accessory. Basically anything with the the skylander brand on it. Megablocks, water toys, bed sheets, potato chips and yogurt. These are sales that DI and Nintendo can't claim as they have very little branded merchandise specific to their TTL line, so not exactly a fair footing. Then again, Skylanders does have that edge over the 'competition' and it should be considered in regards to success.

2nd, these are revenue numbers. I would guess that Skylanders costs are way higher then DI and amiibo, since they have to market their characters much more, develop the characters more, develop a storyline, etc. For the competition, that stuff is taken care of since the characters are marketed thourgh other products with thier own revenue streams.

Although these products are similar, I think they're measure of success is different. Skylanders has to be a successful franchise. The total money it brings in has to be worth the cost put into it. DI isn't really a franchise, it's just a product line for Disney. It surely is profitable, but it doesn't have to be that successful to be worth it. Heck, it could even take a loss if Disney feels it helps market their movies etc. Amiibo is just a product, an arm of a franchise that Nintendo got into for easy money, in my estimation. If it's not profitable, they won't mind terminating.

Kinda bummed there's no mention of Trap Team versus previous entries....just comments like:
#1 Kids Game
3 billion revenue
240 million toys sold
innovative game coming in 2015

RIP GhostRoaster. He's reanimated as TakeYourLemons but occasionally is resurrected from the beyond when needed.

Yes, it would have been interesting, but apparently, no other game, after SA, is compared to his previous entry.

Also, don't ask me why, but that part about the "introduction of Light and Dark Elements" strangely make me think that there will be more characters from those two Elements, in Skylanders 5.

When you introduce something, is because you want it to stay and maybe develop... Right?
