So I found a local seller claiming these are rare. Truth is I've only started playing with TT; so don't know much about the previous games and the rare factor of the figures. Also, please keep in mind that the bulk of these figures are out of their original packaging; please let me know if I'm being taken for a fool or if these are actually considered rare
"Pearl" Hot Head (dude's not even asking for a price; wants to see what he gets as offers) still in package
Well I was gonna list a bunch of others but the ads got taken down... so yeah limiting my question to this one particular skylander

Why don't you just look at completed listings on ebay and see how much things go for? Or simply google things and see what comes up? It is all anyone on here will do to answer the questions..

He (Pearl Hot Head) could potentially fetch a lot of money, but I doubt that he's worth it. He's definitely rare, but I don't see Skylanders - even rare variants - being a good long term investment. I personally don't think they will ever become really valuable and they could potentially become almost worthless in years to come. But I could be wrong. Ghost roaster is reasonably rare and sells for a bit on ebay, often getting up around the $40 mark. If he's in the Dark Light Crypt pack you can expect to pay $50 or more from what I have seen. I doubt series 2 Bash is overly rare. I would expect to find him on ebay from time to time at less than his original retail price. So sub-$10, but it could take a while for one to come up. The ebay suggestion, whilst blunt, is a good one. It will give you an idea on prices, but just because someone is asking $X doesn't mean they're getting it. |

If you've just started playing, you're better off spending money on common figures that you like rather than blowing it all on one "rare" figure. Chances are that the seller isn't an uninformed chump who will let you have it for less than recently ended EBay auction prices...seller has already announced it to you as a rare figure. Tell him you just started playing and lowball him with a figure like $20-30 and then move on if it's something you can't afford...no harm, no foul.

Someone showed off a blue Smolder Dash that i'd love to have but i never see her on ebay or anything like that.
Other then that I think Bash series 2 tends to be one of the most hard to find. |

Yup, I have no idea why some people call them pearl, it makes searching annoying. Quote: Street50
Blue hair with glitter body? It's one of the employee-editions, pretty rare!

Really? I have seen a few secondhand series 2 Bash's that were around the $8-$10 range. Should have brought them, but then it's hard to know at the time if their value is going to increase.

ok i think i need to take back the Bash series 2 I hadn't checked in quite a long time but I knew at one point Bash Series 2 was selling for 150. Not just asking on ebay but actually sold for that much on ebay.
Now looking i see people getting him for around 15 dollars. |

I live in Quebec; so no Gamestop; our closest counterpart would be EB Games. I saw a post on the forums regarding a clear Tuff Luck bundlepack that sold out in like less than 2 hours.
I was hoping for some clarification. I first heard about clear tuff luck a few weeks ago and saw it was selling on EBay for BIIIIG bucks. So do I have the following right? Gamestop as a whole company got a bunch of clear tuff luck's (I'm guessing maybe 100 across the entire chain?) which sold out in a matter of hours; do I have this right so far? So will these Tuff Luck's also be selling for hundreds of dollars on EBay? Or since Activision mass produced them once, they'll do it again, which would no longer make them chase variants and lower the market price? |

Pearl Hot Head is rare, at this point super rare. I REALLY want him in my collection, just to complete my 'Giants' Alt-Giants collection (need a Wicked Thumpback too ), but his price is pretty ridiculous.
Ghost Roasters value goes up and down, for a long time it floated around $45 on average (I used to be a reseller and kept a chart of ALL the figures sold so I could track going rate, REALLY concrete number), but over the past year, I've seen his value dip down to like $30 and even lower on occasion. I have a feeling he won't ever get a real repose, but might get the 'Dino-Rang' "repackage" treatment with the next game, so I only see his value dropping from here. As to why he'll get a release - simple, all the S1s with value to their name have gotten a lightcore (whamshell was a perpetual $25), or repackage (Dino-Rang was $18+) - except for Boomer and GR. Expect a Lightcore Ghost Roaster and a repackage Boomer (or vice versa). S2 Bash is actually a solid find. He's not as valuable as SOME of the other S1s, but he'll fetch you anywhere from $20-$30 on eBay. Now if this is all for YOU to play, then don't waste your money on any of them but Ghost Roaster. I always recommend to people new to the series, hop on eBay and search "Skylander Lot", put a cap of say $75 on it, and look for the largest deal. Trust me, parents off load stuff ALL the time - often not knowing what's mixed in there. - Unreall |
