Am I the only one that has realised that there are 4 new light and dark villains, however there are only 3 new traps for each respective element? This means if you really want to trap them all you might need to get doubles, unless they're are hiding traps, which is unlikely as all the traps are listed in the game!

Nope, you're not the only one... its... disappointing.
but at least there is a variant light villain to make a 4th trap, to me its different enough, just hoping for a dark villain variant Also they aren't hiding traps, a person hacked into the game files and confirmed only 3 for both |

Not all the traps are listed in the game, for example, the ToysRUs variant traps only become visible after you place them in the POP.

Correct. They decided to make 6 trap molds for all elements except light and dark where 3 were made. This decisions was apparently made without regard to the fact that some elements don't even have enough villains to support the various trap molds, and in this case, light and dark didn't have enough molds. So, for those who decided to do a 1:1 with traps are going to need to make decisions as to which trap molds to buy where there are too many, and duplicate on the light and dark where there's not enough. Example: Magic has 3 villains, but 6 trap molds. To the previous poster: the water and undead legendary traps inflate these counts even more and really aren't part of the equation.

It's really annoying as there should be only one per villain and not total randomness. Luckily most of the villains are just too lame to ever use, so you really don't need more than one of each element trap. Personally when I got Tae Kwon Crow I didn't need any of the other traps other than Chomp Chest for fast money. I expect whenever I get a Kaos Trap, I'll be retiring poor old Tae Kwon Crow to the crystal heap. But then again, I may get like 10 dark traps just to have an army of Tae Kwon Crows to breeze though nightmare mode. LOL!

What I'm doing is just trapping the villains I like. So I'll have Luminous, Nightshade, (Rebel) Lob Goblin, Fisticuffs, Eye Five, and Tae Kwon Crow in a trap, and Blaster-Tron and Eye Scream are just going to rot in the villain vault I guess.

I don't use any villain other than Kaos. His "doom shark" attack has a wide field, and the "elemental" attack is pretty decent for putting out damage to a boss with a 10% chance it will refill his timer. The giant floating head attack isn't as useful, but its still fun to do. I was able to do all 100 Kaos challenges on nightmare. Kaos's evolved timer will last the length of each wave, and I just wait until the timer is recharged before initiating the next wave. |

I totally have no problems with both Light and Dark elements. So far, I really like the Dark Spider and Light Owl Traps better than the others ones. Luminous is my most favorite Light Villain. Tae Kwon Crow is the best Dark Villain I've ever played as. Nightshade does move much faster and can deal with even more damage while he is invisible. However, he can only attack one enemy at a time. But to overcome that, his round party bombs can slow them down a little. You can keep throwing those bombs and stay invisible.

About those? When I found out about the Legendary Traps, I chose to get the Legendary Orb and Skull Traps while leaving the original ones out of my collection. |

Yes, its annoying there are so few traps right now, but the bigger problem is so few people can find the Dark and Light Elemental Expansion zones right now without paying crazy ebay prices. There need to be more of these so folks do not have the pathetic incentive to buy out the stock and jack up the price. I have been trying to find 2 sets for friends who can't find them and after hitting 20 stores, just found 1 Midnight Museum pack. Something, but not enough.

Amazon sells Dark Packs at a regular price, though they might be all sold out, as of now. Regarding the Light ones, just wait. The restocking is probably soon to happen.
