Hi, so what would be the standards for completely maxing out a character?
-Level 20
- Every upgrade
Do heroics and buffs from the previous games carry over?

You nailed it. Those are the only two things that count now. I guess you could max out the gold if you are also so inclined.

If toy quests were in Trap Team, there would also be them to complete. I'm disappointed that they took them out of this game as it would've given me more to do with the new Skylanders. If I decide to buy Skylanders 5, I hope the quests will be back in it.

It would be nice to keep only one personal quest per Skylander, and make it challenging, like completing a particular level without taking damage, complete a level under a time limit, complete a set of Kaos Mode waves without switching, etc.

Sadly correct. Equally irritating is how any work we DID only applied to the game in question; in effect wiping the slate clean on every entry.

Agree, they should really take account of the efforts a player put in their figures. Quests were AWESOME, and I was really disappointed when I found out they weren't in Trap Team... Thought they would at least put them, since there wasn't an increased level cap... However, they should do them with a grain of salt, this time. Having to farm bomb kills in the only level they were present, in SWAP Force, to complete the Fire's quests (and with a new physic engine that made all even more difficult), or repeating the Frost Elves Gems Bonus Mission to kill 30 or so Life Spell Punks (because replaying the only other level they were in, Fantasm Forest, was out of question) was really frustrating...

Activision should have allowed to have all Skylanders' stats boosted with either charms or completed Heroics or Bonus Missions.

I've not been a fan of some of the implementations. Grinding that's fun is not a chore, but the ones you mention still elicit painful memories for me. That being said, I'd rather have painful grinding than nothing. However, the rewards were not justifiable. +75 HP. Are you kidding me? And it means nothing in the next game? Make it more fun, make the reward worth it, and have it carry over. What's so wrong here in doing that? My only guess and obstacle is the fact that the two development houses have to absolutely be in alignment here. And VV, although didn't do everything I wanted (they cheaped out on Heroics but at least tried to make up for it with Legendary Treasures that could be used to augment stats) TfB totally flushed the entire concept. I really loved Giants and having all of my stats boosted by completing character specific missions and seeing a different in my skylander. Those days are sadly gone. Not. Cool. At. All. How about the idea of supporting the idea that a character that has had quests/heroics done over three games get elite type stats? Now you'll have people wanting to put in the effort. Combine that with PvP playoffs with online to determine who has the best stats and fighting capability? I would absolutely cry. For Joy. For Once.

I wouldn't mind the lack of Quests/Heroics/Whatevers to do if they acknowledged the old ones and we had more varied modes to upgrade/level in, kinda like SF. It's really the former that stings me, although the latter is a much bigger blow to TT's replayability than the lack of Skylander progression beyond upgrading, levelling and gold hoarding. I spent hundreds of hours completing everything, but in the newest game, I'm offered no reward for that. Surely some stat boosts for it, even something noting how many Heroics and Quests I've done with a character, wouldn't be something that needed too much development and testing?

Good point AoA and I agree. All they would have to do is simply read the field on the chip, extrapolate what they did and present a graphic (like VV did in Swap Force) regarding which heroics/quests they've done for which game...and if conditions are met boost some stats more noticeably or apply a multiplier effect on hats. It's clear to me it wasn't about coding/testing, it was about dropping support for the system.

Honestly? What would probably make everyone happy in Skylanders 5 is this:
-Increase level cap to 25. Self explanitory -Bring back heroics. All 50, plus maybe 10 new ones. That way every single skylander can finally do the old heroics, and the older ones have a few new ones they can do -Bring back quests. Though the idea mentioned about 1 quest per character sounds a lot better. Maybe even if it was just the 3 elemental quests -Acknowledge old quests. It's understandable that unlike heroics, you cant bring back old quests and because of this, I dont believe you should receive any bonus for finishing them. but at least acknowledge it like in swap force. As an example: If you have a series 1 Stealth Elf that you slaved over and fully upgraded through the games (all heroics, quests, upgrades, levels). In skylander 5 you should have some reason to still play as her. You could get her up to level 25. You could complete the 10 new heroics. You could complete the 1-3 quests available. And when you place her on the portal she would have 3 medallions showing you completed all the quests in giants, swap force, and skylanders 5. If you have a series 1 High Five (or any other new character you love), youd finally be able to do all the old 50 heroics, and the new 10. You could get him up to level 25. You could complete the quests available. And when you placed him on the portal he would have 1 medal for the quests in skylander 5. This option allows them to equalize the skylanders totally because everyone would have the opportunity to complete all heroic challenges to upgrade (if the player felt they wanted to)

What if they gave a stat boost for each Quest we complete? Not only an health one (that's already covered with the level ups), but also an armor, luck, speed and maybe elemental power ones. Nothing too invasive (I think some character should remain slow, to make sense, like Crusher, Prism Break or Thumpback), but it would be an awesome reward. It would surely encourages people who aren't interested to try and complete them. Quote: alegeobla
Give me an increased level cap of 30 (since Trap Team lack of it) and I'll be the happiest Portal Master on Earth, with the rest of those ideas! However, I have a feeling V.V. will nail those features, with Skylanders 5. After all, that's undoubtedly what they did better, in SWAP Force.

^ I really don't care HOW they do it...any way you slice it...as long as they meet my requirements above...that's all I care about (fun, rewarding, long lasting). The current system was flawed so I encourage them to come up with a new way that both dev houses can support.
