I don't even think the next story addresses the gap/issue. Kaos' mom is still trapped in the mirror as far as we know...right

Maybe the villains that are trapped are fake clone versions

Could always just say it's on a different timeline than Trap Team or that it took place before it.

I'm actually starting to think they won't even acknowledge Kaos being in the trap, and just act like it never happened?

I do want an explanation on Glumshanks-Kaos Swapped, since they skipped over it, and since STT is after the events of SSF, they would need something/explanation to oucur in between those games,

He's even mentioned in Cynder and Hex's backstories, if I remember correctly.

Now that we've time travelled with Da Pinchy , it'd be cool to have mini back story levels for characters.

Maybe someone's messing with the past and you have to go back and set things right.

E.g. Stump smash: wakes up cutdown in a half destroyed forest . Mission is to rid the forest of trolls. Kinda like the bonus missions in swapforce.

Honestly, I think there ought to be a new main villain, because I'm sure there are other more powerful servants of The Darkness other than Kaos.
Heck, we honestly don't even know how powerful The Darkness is.
Plus with four games out with Kaos as the last boss gets rather tiresome. I want someone fresh & new to battle.
Malefor would be an excellent choice, if they go retro, since Drek mentioned that he has a history with two of SA's Skylanders: Hex & Cynder, which the latter has history with Spyro.
But, honestly, it's anyone's guess. Just as long it's not Kaos.

Though, I would think Vicarious Visions would be good at making an entirely new villain/game, Maybe a Dragon like character ( Yes, I know Malefor is a dragon too.. ) as the main villain, and not anyone like Kaos,

I agree with you so much!

They should really implement Skylanders' backstories inside the game, as Bonus Missions that give them special abilities boosts, and take place in the past.

Imagine how cool it would be to actually see how Drill Sergeant was born, and how he remained buried for so long, or even take a glimpse at how Spyro met Eon.
Nothing too long, but it would help creating strong bounds with the characters.

I like him, and would be sad if he doesn't show up (if he's available as a playable villain, then I'm ok).
After all, in this game he's only the final boss, Domm Raiders are the true main villains.

But, I read in an interview that the end of Trap Team would have served as a way to introduce some big news, in the Skylands... They could be talking about a new incoming villain.

That being said, they also said that "Spyro would have had a much bigger role, in Giants".

I think that the comic book is foreshadowing that Malefor will be the next boss.

Or he's simply placed as a comic story villain, like Magus and Iron Nose. Just because a villain appeared in a comic, it doesn't always automatically mean they're going to appear in the next game.

just coz they are both humanoids with big heads. If you look at their eyes and mouth and nose , they are different . And in game Kaos is a fair bit smaller.

I think if we see more of his species in the future we'll see more diversity in their looks. His increased head size, which I assume is a result of being given psychic powers), probably squishes his facial features and masks his species normal looks.

Like the idea of the mini games.
