Update 2: A big thank you to everyone who submitted an application to become a Hunter! I am pleased to reveal that the long search is finally over. Update: The submission part of the Hunter Application process has ended. Thank you for your interest. It will take some time to work through all of the submissions so please be patient.


It's been just over two years since the last Hunter applications were run and over those two years we have seen several of the chosen volunteers step down for one reason or another. In order to boost those numbers back up I'm reopening the application process today to try and find a new batch of volunteers who would like to help with keeping the forum in check.

What is a Hunter?
A Hunter is the darkSpyro name for a Forum Moderator. And what is a moderator? A moderator is a forum member who has the authority to keep order in the forums and the extra abilities to back it up. They can close, delete, edit, lock, merge and move topics and posts, as well as warn users and, if necessary, suspend them.

What are you looking for in a moderator?
Somebody who is mature and can be as neutral as possible in resolving disputes between other members of the forum. You should already be a positive member of the community and be willing to help those new to the site as well as reminding those longer term members how they should be behaving.

Are you looking for anything specific?
This time I am mostly looking for moderators for the Skylanders sections of the forum as well as the Fandom area as both currently have only a single moderator assigned to them. That said I will also be looking for a few moderators for the other areas of the forum but those two will be the main focus, but please do not let that put you off applying.

What kind of time commitment are you looking for?
Ideally the candidate will already visit the forum fairly frequently and spend at least 1 hour per day here. This position is not looking to extend your time input to the site just what you can do with it. If you're rarely on or don't stay long when you do visit then this task is probably not for you.

What's the pay?
This is an entirely voluntary and unpaid position. You're not tied into the role and can quit at any time you like if it turns out that you do not like the role or do not feel up to it once you've tried it out (or for any other reason of course).

What are the minimum requirements?
Last time the number of applications was greater than expected so this time around I have made the decision to limit applications to those who have reached Green Sparx status or higher (100+ Gems). You should also have an active history in the area of the forum you have selected.

So how do I apply?
Fill out the Hunter Application Form to the best of your abilities, submit it and then sit back and relax. You can however continue to modify your application right up until the closing date.


Once the application period has ended (it'll be open for two weeks so it closes on the 26th of January 2015) all of the applications will be read and sorted through (this will take some time so please be patient). Once the selection process has suitably narrowed down the candidates I will be contacting those chosen candidates through Private Message (so make sure your inbox isn't full!).
