Seriously, when are we getting this?! They've already discontinued the original 3ds in the united states. all 3ds xls are only 170.00 at gamestop. They're obviously makign way for these guys, but they are staying silent on it, EVEN WHEN EUROPE IS GETTING THE DANG THING NOW!

How much do we think it will cost? I assume 200.00USD...

Price will most likely be $159.99 for the New 3DS, $199.99 for the New 3DS XL.
Release date is still unknown, even for Europe (public sale release date, not AE release). I think we'll be getting a Direct this month announcing it.

Probably a year after Xenoblade Chronicles comes out in Japan.

I'm expecting a release by at least September, I'm thinking mid-to-early summer.

If Bulbapedia's Twitter feed is to be believed, Nintendo of Europe gave select Club Nintendo members in the region the chance to buy the New 3DS early, so I can't imagine the release is too far off for the west. <.<;

This is true, it's called the Ambassador edition, which has limited edition cover plates, the Charging Dock and the Smash Bros white cover plates. Since the goodies are all packaged, I would believe a release date of February to be in place.

I believe Nintendos of America and Europe stated that the don't plan on release the New 3DS until they feel like the normal 3DS has better sales. Kind of stupid, but yeah.

Also, I believe the Ambassador's Edition is only available for select Club Nintendo members in Europe ONLY. They also have until the end of tomorrow to buy it. Kind of sucks, but yeah.

They just said that it's coming out in 2015, nothing about the sales.

I was waiting for a green for the first Nintendo 3ds to come on the market and when I found out they stop making the first Nintendo 3ds I was pissed off.

Cost more in Australia so unfair.

I wanted a green Nintendo 3ds but had to go for red.

Good news: gamestop is recieving trade in deal promotion stuff.

Bad news: they can;t put it out, and STILL NO RELEASE DATE!

But that means we're pretty much certain we're getting this thing soon!

It takes 3ds and ds games, has increased cpu, better 3d, amiibo support, the normal edition has interchangeable cover plates, both models have a c-stick, the xenoblade port is exclusive to the "new" 3ds... So many reasons to want.

Yeah I can't trade in my original 3DS, since the serial number is removed, and I am definately not trading in my Zelda 3DS XL.

Perhaps they'll have more info during tomorrow's Nintendo Direct?

I just find the poster misleading. Why show off MM3D/MH4U, no date, but on a poster specific for N3DS?

I have a sneaking suspicion that said DLC would also include events for Hoopa and Volcanion. Especially since Hoopa's "change forme" item already exists in the game's code.

Of course, I'm allergic to competitive battling. And the Frontier is designed around those mechanics, so I'd have a hard time convincing myself to buy it. @.@

Well, a Hoopa event is bound to occur with the movie coming out soon. Though the item being in the code means little. Mega Latias & Latios as well as their Mega Stones exist in X/Y's code yet look where that got us... >.> Neither can be used in battle against one with X/Y nor can the stones be traded to X/Y.

While having a difficult time in the previous rounds of Frontier, I must say I still enjoy the environment the buildings are in and often give them a try. I was only able to beat the one in Emerald where the building was shaped like a Seviper, and I quite enjoyed the Battle Casino in Platinum, only one I was able to get through.

Considering the amount of support the new Megas in OR/AS got for X/Y, I remain skeptical towards that regard.

Well that leak was only about half-right. Anyway, it appears North America is only getting the New Nintendo 3DS XL, unless I missed something. It'll be available in two colors, however there are also 2 special bundles: Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate and The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask. All versions of New XL are coming out 2/13/15 in the Americas. <.<;
