Yes it will. Amiibo aren't region locked. You can import one from anywhere in the world and it will work just fine.

I wouldn't be so sure. As sonicbrawler said, we have reason to assume that every fighter has Amiibo data on the game disc itself. The video could have easily shown Ganondorf instead of G&W because everyone has data. All we have learned from those videos is that there is data for them in the code, not that these will be in Wave 5.

Plus, Ike was shown at the same time as Charizard and Ness during the Smash direct, and he got chosen for release first, so we have no idea at this point when Charizard or Ness will show up.

They'll definitely happen. Be sure to pre-order though since I'm sure they'll be rare.

I'm really curious to how G&W will turn out. My guess is they'll encase him in a strong transparent plastic or material but keep him 2D to match the character's design.

Doesn't necessarily confirm those 2 though. However, it does stand that 2 of the 4 we know are likely in Wave 4. Judging by the mention of patterns, I'd say Charizard isn't one of them for sure. It looks like a Pokemon figure every other Wave so far (though 3 waves isn't much to go on). Still I wouldn't count out Ness from one of those possible spots in the fourth Wave.

Making random guesses based on assumed "patterns" I'd say Ganondorf could come in Wave 4 along with potentially Bowser Jr or Wario. Then Charizard & Robin or Lucina in 5. f course this is merely speculation.

The two he hints at are more likely either Ness or Charizard, since they showed up in a Nintendo video once.

Rosalina may not necessarily be super rare, but pre-orders for her are all gone, and they aren't coming back. Everyone wants her (a combination of the popularity of the character, and the fact scalpers know her dedicated fans will pay highly for her), so although there will probably be a lot of her (Target apparently stocks big on exclusive toys), stock is probably gonna go really quickly.

Once again, Ike, Sonic, and King Dedede are the rumored rares of Wave 3 that you can still preorder*.

This should be a note for everyone that may ask who the rares are for Wave 3, or who they should pre-order if they want to guarantee a full collection. Those three are the most likely to be rare at this point. Yes, retail exclusives in the US have a chance of being rare, but that depends on how the stores handle them.

*Shulk is also very likely going to be rare (through self-sabotage from Gamestop), but GS for the most part no longer accepts pre-orders for him.

The first three you listed cannot be preordered anymore unless you're lucky enough to find a TRU that still has Lucario cards on shelves (though they were ordered to destroy them all). With them you will have to arrive in the respective stores on day one and hope they still have stock (with Shulk this will be very unlikely unfortunately). If you cannot find them after a week or two, importing may be your best bet.

Preorder Ike.

Mega Man is up in the air and unknown but so far there's no proof to suggest that he'll be rare. You don't have to preorder him unless you really want to be on the safe side.

Toon Link, Sheik, and Bowser are likely to be common. You don't need to preorder them at all.

Thanks. I'll stay safe and do ike and mega man. Sheik, bowser, and toon link, i'll just get on day one. As for shulk... i'll import him when he comes out in japan next month.

I'll also get my butt down to tru and best buy on w3 day one to get my lucario and meta knight!
