If you don't read the manga then it's not bad and likable but if you read the manga then it's absolutely awful.


I'm planning on reading the Tokyo Ghoul manga once I've finished my exams. I've been planning to read it for ages because it looks really interesting but I've never had the time to get round to it.

Okay so I picked up akame ga kill again because of a friend.

It eventually strayed away from all the mindless slicing and stuff and I liked the whole shonen thing that was going on.

But then it starts to kill off characters like wtf. I was just sitting there hoping that they wouldn't kill the dude with like the best weapon ever for anime fight scenes, but he just died so I'm dropping it again. I'm done with this show god damn.

Attack on Titan OVA 1 subbed No Regrets
It's based on the 2 part spin off manga called No Regrets Part 1 (Which is like, my only redeeming quality for Levi tbh, as I like him in that but not in the main series :I )
Anyway, there aren't any spoilers (as far as I'm aware of) from the anime.

^ Ahhh I've looked forward to this OVA, mainly because I love the manga and wish it went on longer. <3
And I've always loved levi mainly because of the fact that he has a cold and serious personality, but unlike those types of characters he actually freaking shows OTHER EMOTIONS and really cares about others especially when they die (usually those type hide their emotions and don't seem to care for other's well being or hide it). It's just good to see a character that has the stereotypical 'I'm cold and too cool for you/I'm emo' trait, but portrays it differently.

oh. I mean, i liked him in No Regrets 2 and he has his ok parts in the anime, but it's just something about him I don't like. It's not that he's cold, as I actually really like those type of characters, it's just...i don't know. He just has always been eh to me. And yeah, I wish No Regrets went on longer (better than the Before The Fall that is practically a really bad fanfiction). But I do feel like it left off at a good point.

I do believe he's not as great as people make him out to be though. There are better characters in anime. :\

And I also love No Regrets because it also shows that Levi can get actually get defeated by someone, and gave more insight to Levi's character. I admit I wouldn't have liked him as much without it.

Petra really loved him and wanted to spend her life with him or something but I don't think they were actually engaged

I kinda feel that his fanbase is annoying. He is so popular for some reason that in most things, the order goes Mikasa > Eren > Levi > What'stheblondeguyagain?
(I know it's Armin I'm making a point how most companies are)
For instance, GSC
They make Mikasa, Eren, Levi, and Armin Nendoroids in that order
then Mikasa, Eren, Levi figmas in that order. They made Armin, however, he wasn't even a regular release and was a wonfes release.
Most ads exclude him. They always have Eren, Mikasa, and Levi. Lot's of official art is only Eren, Mikasa, and Levi.
IMO he's not even hot or sexy, so I really don't see why so many people like him SO much.
And yeah, it was nice to see him get beat for a change and show he is able to be defeated.

^ I'm so glad I'm not the only one who thinks he's not that hot. Okay I think he's hot in the No regrets manga, but he doesn't look as good when he's older IMO.

And I hate that Armin gets no recognition from both the media and fans despite being part of the main three. I honestly don't like Erin or Mikasa (even though I used to), and my favourites are Levi, Armin, Zoe and maybe Jean and Sasha. I find Armin relatable (and also Jean to an extent. that guy is seriously human) and I love his character development in the manga.

It annoys me when fangirls/fanboys ruin an anime by hyping characters and thereby overshadowing others that deserve more recognition. I bet Levi wouldn't be as popular if he wasn't 'hot' and was only Erin's age. Durarara is another example of this. -__-

I really like Izaya because... can't say anything cuz spoilers for season 2. >_<
and I admit i have a strange tendency to like asshole characters like izaya, so there's that too. I also find him very interesting, especially when I see theories to why he behaves the way he does.

Shizuo on the other hand doesn't deserve the hype. He's just boring to me. I do really like Shizuo, but he doesn't deserve so much popularity when there are other characters with much more character development and complexity than him (kida, celty).

and shizaya sucks and ruins izaya's character. i prefer izayaxnamie :(

I just wanna say something. Male leads in harem anime are the worst! They're bland, they look boring, they're weak-willed and they DON'T project what we, the audience, are thinking. How you people even think of "inserting" yourselves into the role if the character isn't anything like you or what you want.

This is why, in my opinion, harem protagonists, as well as all so-called audience surrogate characters, deserved to be judged as characters of their own.

Chris from Sonic X is rich and has friends but whines a lot while Kicker from Energon actively hates the Autobots, both do the opposite to what all of us would do because 99% of the time, these kind of characters are born from bad writing. Kyon is an exception.
