It's been a while since I've played a skylanders game (and by a while I mean skipping Swap Force in it's entirety exept for Blizzard ) and definitely I've missed out on some of the neat stuff added, so for Christmas I managed to get my hands on a few skylanders and Trap Team. Now I have a small handful of Trap Team Skylanders in comparison to my giants and my Spyro's Adventure collections.
So with this new game I come with a few questions...namely who to get when able...mind helping me out? I'm looking for a good Skylander and trap master from each element and some I'm having trouble deciding on, so maybe you fellows could help me in that department as well? Also while we're at it, mind giving advice on which path to choose on the ones I will get?
May as well list off the Trap team Skylanders that I do have first
Obviously and since they were in the starter pack
The Trap Masters I got were , , and as well as traps for Tech, Undead, Magic, and Fire (Only missing Air and Earth)
I would like to get both trap masters and a core Skylander of each element I don't have...here is where I'm debating things...
For Earth I would like for the ramming capabilities, making her unique, but would be more helpful in the "just get the battle over with" sort of thing
For Life I like For his design, but Seems to lean more to my style of combat (Rapid fire attacks)
For Air and magic should I wait for the wave they get released in or just outright get the ones available?
In terms of cores i'm definately getting and since i'm a sucker for 100% completion and will likely get their expansion packs
For Tech I'm aiming to get ...and that's about it in terms of planned stuff for cores
For water I'm more than likely to get the first core available(that is unless scalpers and collectors get to them first...like a lot of skylanders I aim to get...)
Before posting that the Light and Dark adventure packs should be a must buy, I'm aiming to get them so don't waste your time typing it out
also just for the sweetness factor I got Eon's elite with the starter pack and others, I think it's a good concept...if only normal SSA Skylanders could get it as well...(then Drobot will be even more overpowered...)
sorry if it's a bit long and smilie ridden but...I really need help on deciding...

I recommend trail blazer. He has easily jump to one of my favorites. Hes strong, fast, has a unique battle style, and he looks cool.
I'd say to wait for enigma and thunderbolt to get released. I also recommend getting cobra cadabra, hes a lot of fun to use And when you can get your hands on them, grab the dark and light expansion packs |

You need to go with Bushwhack. The axe is devastating, he can throw explosive nuts for distance and with the bottom path he gets a healing himself power and an armor upgrade. Have not gotten to the soul gem yet, but he is awesome!

What about Minis ? Why would you want to skip on that ?

I can't get used to his play style. His ram attack doesn't make him go any faster, and his Bucking Bronco attack is hard to control if you hold it down. |

Cause at this point the minis are just ment for anyone who missed out on the original characters and I said it before I hey don't unlock any content cause you can to the mini area in other ways just using the stater pack plus I can tell me this person is trying to unlock all content in the fastest so stay clear of minis unless you really want them

well, I found head rush to be a little odd, I jumped on wallop though.(due to his rarity, which may change soon.) chopper is a great choice in chararacter and combat prowess. wallop can clear a room however(he has "tantrum" abilities which means hes just a steamroller for 5 minutes.) I myself don't entirely focus on trap masters(mainly due to the fact that they fall to obsolescence next game.) however they are more powerful(obviously) I am pretty much following your path on character selection. (I tend to use the skylanders/spyro wiki to learn powers, its pretty helpful) but above all, go with the figures and characters you like. and kaos mode is great for training. (horrible something, which is an early one. on solo can net enough gold for a full upgrade. wildfire is quite helpful here.

I agree, his Bucking Bronco attack is so annoying to use because you literally have NO control when using it and it leaves you vulnerable. Otherwise he's decent.

I don't recommend Chopper at all. His only decent attack are his missles while his propellers have a slow wind up time and feel awkward to control, while his roar is just total garbage. Only spamming rockets gets really boring after a while, an they barely home in, they just circle the enemy most of the time, which makes him even more frustrating to play. Overall, he just plain sucks

Air - Trap - Gusto, the other TM looks to be real slow, his saving grace is his sword looks super cool
Dark - Trap - Knightmare - no options really, Black Out looks GREAT, but isn't out yet Earth - Trap - Wallop, no question, Head Rush is garbage; Fist bump is a GREAT character once leveled up. Before leveling up he blows, but once you start slamming all over the place...imagine a melee version of Prism Break Fire - Trap - Wildfire, note - I got Kaboom, but haven't played him yet, Kaboom is big damage and slow, Wildfire hits hard, hits fast, is versatile, etc; not in love with the cores; Life - Trap - Bushwack, Tuffluck looks like a cross between Scratch (go back and get her from SF) and Trap Shadow, you'll spam punch all day long, again, like Kaboom I have her but haven't actually played her due to 'life' Light - Trap - Knight Light, oo with just a tiny bit more range h would be so awesome at melee, Sunspot or whatever is just flashwing 2.0 *skip* Magic - Trap - Enigma is easily the coolest looking Skylander to date, but the videos of him we've seen are VERY underwhelming - but Blastermind is worse; Deja Vu is 'OK'... Tech - Trap - Gearshift, versatile playstyle, while Jawbreaker is literally mash punch. There is a villain JUST like Jawbreaker, just trap him; Chopper is borderline, I enjoyed the heck out of him, but he's like Drobot, super strong, but easily boring to some Undead - Trap - Shortcut, anything is better than Krypt King, he FEELS like a 'Giant' more than any other Trap MAster; Funnybone is a waste and Bat spin doesn't look better Water - Trap - LOB-MFN-STAR - one of the strongest TMs to date, fast and can survive a lot due to playstyles; Echo and flipwreck are still more mystery than solid info... - Unreall |
