Is it even Spyro anymore? What's the point?

Some people never saw it as Spyro even from the first game. I know I didn't.

The point of the game? To have fun, I suppose.

The first was called "Spyro's Adventure," and with this being a Spyro site and all... but from what I can tell Spyro isn't even a big character for the games anymore (if he's still even in the games Idek I've never played them), but because of that one game at least, I guess they're considered Spyro games... at least enough to have a spot on the site.

It became a Skylanders site as well. We are no longer a Spyro only fan forum.

Agreed, I was a fan until the third game came out, cause the I felt like it was getting redicoulous (why can't I spell that right?). I'm just lucky I haven't bought any of the games yet.

Haven't they been releasing a game each year?

Doesn't a good game usually take about 2.5-3 years to make?

I stopped playing after the second one but, I know that two companies were taking turns releasing them. For swap force I think vicarious visions made it, and the most recent one was made by toys for Bob. Plus it's really not even that good of a game when you think about it, considering for each game they just make a couple new levels and reuse the side quests for each character from previous games. It mainly sells for the toys, not the game tbh.

I remember when I used to think I was the biggest fan of Spyro. Then I run into you lovelies and you outshine me in Spyro knowledge. I had no idea about there being comics.
I know they're Skylander comics, but still....it focuses on Spyro more, no?

I think that even w/o Spyro, Skylanders will sell like hotcakes now. I don't know why Activision are bothering to keep the IP because it sure as hell doesn't look like Activision will make a Spyro only game now. Skylanders will still sell like hotcakes without Spyro. Skylanders is like CoD. a yearly game that doesn't change much but people will but the games and figures (which are glorified DLC).

I think I have some posts on my Spyro2008 account of my reaction when Skylanders was announced.

I can't remember if I was butthurt or if I thought it was kind of unique? I don't remember. Time to find them.

Incorrect. Activision bought the rights for Spyro back in 2008 along with Crash. Insomniac didn't just "give" Spyro to TFB/Activision.

There was a three game contract rule for both Crash and Spyro, with Crash getting an extention for two party titles.

Universal always owned them and wanted to make a bargain on their popularity and thus made both multiplatform.

Yeah and that, there's nothing to do when you complete it, other then walking around the ruins, battle mode, heroic challenges and etc.
