mommy bought me a windows 8.1 laptop this christmas...but i cant stand windows 8.1
it's a real shame you can't actually buy windows 7 computers anymore
but anyway
i lost my windows 7 disc so i can't downgrade and i don't feel like pirating one :'(

Actually, I'm leaving for college within a year, so my parents can deal with this godforsaken thing on their own time. I'm hopefully going to get a laptop as a graduation present.


But maybe your mom didn't know the difference. Maybe talk to her and see if you guys can return it and work something out with the retailer?

the problem is, windows 7 desktops/laptops are pretty much off the market now so you're forced into buying windows 8/8.1. i know that if my mom had the chance, she would have bought me a windows 7.

I was looking for a laptop to get that had Windows 7 but I couldn't find any that was strong and had the OS I wanted. Had to go with Windows 8.
I got used to it in less than a day, but I just sign on, click on the Desktop app, and run it from there. Haven't played with the Apps screen fully yet. Just deleted a couple of things on it.

If you don't mind being monitored, the Windows 10 technical preview is excellent.

Also, 8.1 is awful. Downgrade to Vista if you can, its become very stable within the years.

And hey, I can also help you out. I have an unlimited supply of Windows 7 professional keys (don't as how --no I did not pirate).

If you can get an ISO of the Win7Pro installer I will supply you a key. The Win7Pro installer is free.

This, actually. My mum's been trialing it on her laptop for months and has had hardly any problems as of yet. It's still got the Windows 8 feel to it, but it's a little closer to Windows 7 now, most likely to minimize the issues that arose with 8 (and the complaints). I quite like it, personally. c:

I say as I'm typing on my Windows 7 dual-core Diamond processor PC

But yes I do have a laptop with 8 and I tried TF2 and GMod and SFM on it
It sucked
I only use it for Wattpad

i have windows 8.1, once i figured out how to actually use it it's been great

i actually prefer it to 7 now
