To explain it a bit better: Nightshade's primary attack can cause money to drop. It works on the training dummies in the Academy. You can spam his attacks to get a large amount of money.
For the quickest way to get a lot of cash: Stand directly behind the dummies. It causes more money to drop per swipe. Also, if you want even more gold to drop, swap him in, go into stealth mode, and then attack the dummies from behind.

Who the heck is Nightshade? A Skylander or a villain? (I haven't finished the game yet)

How much gold in how much time? I can get 9000 gold with Chomp Chest on the first chapter, in 3 minutes, and that's with restarting the chapter 2 times (3000 per run for three runs).

With these money cheats, they don't seem to interest me that much anymore. Especially since collecting so much gold is overrated.

Yeah, I just like having a full skylander. It sure makes random non upgrade purchases trivial to say the least. So, which is easier...Chompy Chest on Chapter 1 or this one? Any other faster techniques? I think you can get something like 3000 every 40 seconds or so. Also wondering best places for upgrading skylander to level 20...Kaos Doom Challenge on high levels seems logical...just wondering what folks are doing.

hiding my skylander behind evolved kaos and doing the last kaos doom challenge level is the fastest I've found. undead to kill, magic to refill kaos' timer. Don't set up any turrets and just be careful to only kill one painyatta, krankenstein or graveclobber at a time and then collect the exp it drops, if you kill more than one, only one of them drops exp, and if there are exp bubbles on screen uncollected and you kill one, the uncollected exp bubbles disappear. it appears that there is a maximum number of exp bubbles that can be on screen at a time.

Kaos doom challenge last level. Put it on easy and use evolved Kaos with undead. His timer moves really slow so you do not even have to use magic too often. You can kill grave clobbers with 2 undead hits. Seems you get the same experience as nightmare but way faster since you fly thru each wave. One full run thru the level and I can bring 2 skylanders from level 1 to level 20. I put the second player behind the chest and use kaos for first player. Just leave the second player there he will be fine. You also get plenty of money as a side bonus. |

Great tips wgeorge and min8or. Does the EXP work like Giants ie EASY gives you more XP, HARD gives you less, or are they the same? In Swap Force it was the opposite.

Not sure about chapter 1, he is just early in chapter 7. You get about 3000 coins for defeating him so doing the zone 3 times would get you 9000 coins. There are lots of places to get easy money. There are a couple of places where you can get over 2000 coins easy with a simple game of skystone smash, like the one at the beginning of chapter 11.
Not hard to get money in this game. |

So tonight I played Kaos Doom Challenge. I'm finding that on EASY you get more XP, less treasure, but on HARD you get less XP and more treasure. Am I correct on this or am I imagining it?
Also, the disappearing XP problem is VERY VERY VERY irritating. They didn't have this problem in any game before this.

Thanks Lamoracke and Windumup.
I haven't noticed more or less treasure/XP on varying difficulties, but I also haven't been paying attention. However what I have noticed in TT is that there isn't much food around. Maybe they were trying to put the Skylanders on a diet? But what food is available seems to give a greater health boost that food from previous installments. |

I've noticed that too. The level design is such that you literally just walk to the next "zone" where you get ambushed...rinse/repeat. Most food are in these "ambush zones"...pretty darn simple design so far...and these gates have even less content than what I remember (and that's saying something as it was already light). In Swap Force, there was a villain/villains to fight almost the entire time, so having food (even at lower HP increments) was especially helpful. Now it seems it is irrelevant since you rarely get attacked unless you are at one of these ambush zones. I kinda got bored walking around through the level.
Still only completed up to Chapter 3 and completed all but last Doom challenge. I'm "sure" it picks up steam soon...just seems ho hum so far.

Sorry, but in my opinion that's pretty much all that happens through the remaining chapters.
Food also becomes a bit irrelevant given that trapped villains don't 'die' they simply time out. So if you're getting low on health, instead of needing to work harder to avoid losing your Skylander, you can just switch and let the villain do all the work. |

There's no consequences for using or "tiring" villains...it's all basically FREE PLAY mode...the whole mechanic just didn't play well to me. I do however love the back/forth comments through the portal at key points. Sounds more thought out than the game itself really. We should find a new thread though since none of this is about a money cheat.

This is why I use the 2 player method in Doom Challenge. With 2 players the XP goes instantly to the players, so you do not have to go gather it up. |

Wow...a bunch of random rule changes here. Seems to me the disappearing XP problem would've been a deal breaker for two player so they "fix it" by having it automatically go to the players? Interesting. Does the XP go to BOTH PLAYERS (like Gold is shared) or closest player? This is totally dumb to do this, especially if there's only one player. What if I'm just a killing machine? I get penalized. Again, I can't play my way...I have to play to the constraints...and this one is pretty big. The only "plus" I see here is that two players can get upgraded in a session...which of course kills how much I play this. I'll probably have to resort to this anyway because I think I can get to the end of the game and probably upgrade 2 or 3 characters max.

It is shared, but both players get the full XP each (it is not split in half.) It is like when you do the Chomp Chest money cheat in chapter 1. If you do it with 2 players each player gets 1000 gold (not 500 each) when you dig up a chest. If you dig up 3 chests with 2 players each player will get 3000 gold (not 1500). |
