Not sure what's happening, but I've always been excited when the new waves come out. We went to target and looked at the Skylanders section where I previously picked up (Kaboom and Blaster Mind) my son found 2 new cores and Tuff Luck. I looked at them and put them back as my son looked at me in amazement. I think I'm loosing interest in collecting all the characters. Between the scalpers and the waves slowly trickling out, it's getting old, I guess. I think I need some encouragement.

I did that I saw the triples last week, shrugged and put them back however. I am still collecting and I will wait for sales before I get them now. The last games I always bought them when they came out then see them a month later for half price and say to myself "I should have waited". I will be picking up a life/magic trap master/level packs and any in game variants. The rest can wait. I'm more interested in Amiibo now anyway.

Welcome to the club. I needed a magic Trapmaster, but seeing all of wave 3 out freshly at TRU this past Sunday didn't do much for me...the $16.99 price tag for Blastermind was very off putting and the more price conscious part of me won out as I passed up on them. I will wait for a nice sale on them. I did however get very excited laying my eyes on the light and dark expansion packs in person for the first time...even the box/sturdy packaging of the product stood out as exemplary in every way.

same here, last year at this time i went bat **** crazy finding all the swappers for my sons! this year only my youngest is into it and he only wanted a select few characters which came from me trading in the old ones.....

My TRU had Tuff Luck but I didn't have enough money to get her so I passed. If it was still the time of Giants or Spyro's I would never see her again but now they have supply and demand in balance so I have no need to worry.

I bought Blastermind on Sunday when I went to TRU, but I left everything else on the shelf. I just don't feel it anymore since the same problems for me remain. These games don't give me the connection with the characters anymore that SSA and Giants did. Maybe someday when I can work on "training" my character with their stats during heroics, I'll get that back. Maybe if they also add in more content worthy of justifying the ridiculous amount of money Activision thinks they'll convince me to spend. Maybe someday, but not today.

Not very excited at all either.. The only one I really wanted was bat spin , and it looks she ain't making it to the states this year!

I don't think it's being hateful, just older people doing smarter shopping.

Tuff Luck is ugly just saying. I never really wanted to get all the characters but now I'm regretting not getting all of Skylanders Spyro's Adventure because some of the ideas for the characters just seem weird to me.

If Target had all of wave 3, I would have bought them. But, the main reason for buying them at Target is to take advantage of the BOGO 40% sale on the 26th. I will do a price adjustment to get the sale price. TRU has the ones that I'm missing, but I am all about the sale. Although, TRU may have a sale on the 26th too.

I've been going nuts lately buying Skylanders so I've decided to limit my purchases for this paycheck to just Ka-Boom. I'll get the Wave 3 cores and Tuff Luck later.

I got super excited and hobbled around collecting them up as fast as I could.

Same reason i left Ka-Boom behind. I know they arent as hard to find as the 1st game and a lil of the 2nd was. They will be available for a while, no need to buy all at once

I'm not one to get all figures of the previous games, though I do have a lot. But in general the new characters don't do much for me, there were much more interesting characters with the previous titles.

Chopper I want, so he's getting bought sooner or later.

Torch looks ok as a figure, but the in-game footage I saw didn't look as good, so I'm not sure. Probably get her off a sale at some point I guess.

Of the Trap Masters just about the only ones that seem interesting and look nice are Short Cut and Enigma, but as usual the prices are off-putting. Bad enough I'll have to pay almost as much for just traps as I did for the game box if I want one for each element (got the game at just 32,95€). Dark Wildfire is worth a mention, he looks great and would take him but I got the standard edition game because it was 47€ cheaper than Dark Edition Sadly the regular golden Wildfire looks way boring compared to the Dark version.

Thats it in a nutshell for me. I really miss the heroic challenges and learning about them through those. I even emailed Activision about that. Cant remember their reply, but it was generic.

It's hard to email Activision and not get a generic response which will never get adressed about game features. They're not going to take direct advice from fans(and shouldn't, lest everyone find out you can ask for said features and start to spam them), they're going to pretend they see general fan reactions(read: see the reviews) and work based on their judgement on that.

On me passing on new 'landers, have to do it all the time since I never wanted to go after everyone. I do have to pass on a super cheap S2 Pop Fizz without a hand every time I go to a certain book store(they don't ever change their skylanders stock, and the store clerks actually don't know the thing has a factory error most of the time), however, because even if it's cheap and I want a Pop Fizz I've got my eyes on importing a S3 instead.

I buy the characters that will unlock all gameplay areas. Beyond that, its all cool factor. Trying to hold out for Enigma for Magic right now.

This is the first year I've passed on figures, too.

The trend continues. I saw the Elites for Terrafin and Stealth Elf, but I'm choosing to wait until the Skylander Day at Gamestop to get them. It will be $5 for them. I'm not too worried about stock since it doesn't appear that people are rushing to get them.

We've passed on SO MANY figures this year. Every single non-adventure pack core. We skipped out on 7 trapmasters (Curse you for being so lovely WF Lobstar). All the minis skipped on. Just using the ones we previously had from Frito Lay/Gamestop promotions...and stuck to 1 of each trap type.

Despite all that, STILL looking at about $330 for everything we're going to get for this game....even with deals on a lot of it.

It's a very expensive game. Good...but expensive. Catching them all jumped the shark with Swap Force. I'm amazed we got one of each character through that game. Euphoria baby. Ha ha.

Yep. I've put about 20 hours in the game so far and I only have 6 chapters to go and a couple of adventure packs. All Doom Challenges done, and all Skeletones challenges, all chapters three starred, Brock's challenges thus far etc. I'm guessing another 15 hours or so and I'll be truly done as in really done unless I start to "churn" on the skylanders and upgrades...right now only the new ones are remotely close to being upgraded. My minis and reposes haven't been touched short of portal registering them for elemental upgrades. Not sure why I should bother with Nightmare short of upgrading the guys I do buy and/or to get the Platinum achievement. I guess I could chase down the "Difficult Dares", but this isn't my idea of replayability.

So yeah, I'm thinking ahead for the last 20 or so and I'm wondering why I should bother getting the rest. There's nothing to do with them when I get them. So it sounds like we both need encouragement.

i just glided gently past some stt landers today, i will order them later online and they are cheaper too... it just take the stress outta the hunting when you can sit home and pick what you want.

I am with you. I have reached portal master rank 40 on file one and portal master rank 40 on nightmare file. There is nothing to do with any new figures I buy except level them up and upgrade them.
