I am halfway done with the Christmas tree quest . I wonder what it does or is it just decoration bonus ?

After opening Blastermind's info page in Lost Islands it looks like his story is different than from that of a webpage's. Below is his story captured with my phone:

Finished the Christmas tree quest, it gives you 25% decoration bonus and you only get one so don't sell it!

Pictures are glitched for me but I went to check myself. The backstory is the same, it's that in the website it's cut off for some reason - not sure how other people got it but it's like that in the wiki.

My Christmas tree just gave me a gem. No idea if it will reoccur or not.

I left mine in storage - then my son told me about the gem payout. The good news is despite the size of the tree, it still only takes one square.

I liked it because it looked pretty on my islands and gives a 50% xp bonus. I haven't seen any gems come from it, though. How often does it produce gems? I would think that if it was clickable that it would, at least, give me a timer with a "Finish Now?" option, but it doesn't. Has anyone received gems from it after Christmas? Maybe it was a deal where it only produces gems during Christmas. I didn't get mine until late last night, before I went to bed, so I wouldn't have received anything from it. Of course, Beatrees may collect from it like the other decorations, so I could have missed it. However, I do like the little animation of the tree rocking in the wind.

It's not clickable, but for some reason it gave me a gem yesterday; and people talked about it on xmas eve. Could be once a day, because only two days a year would be way too much of a hassle to code for 2 gems.

I do forget that Orville's summoning stone doesn't have a timer on it, so it could be like it. But, with that said, it probably isn't that much coding. The code to produce a gem could easily be copied from another item's code and a quick check on the date would be a line or two. But if it's only giving one a day, I would like to think that it would be pointless just for two days. I thought it might have been producing gems more often. I've yet to see anything from it, though.

I've gotten 3 or 4 gems from it, including today

I've gotten 2,3 and 1 gem from it about 1x a day. It's like Orville, though. You can't click it for "time remaining" but it does seem to be on a 24 hour payout

and I have had it since early on--I finished the quests very quickly

Well after I had to collect from Orville late for the Water quest, he was showing up earlier and earlier - I think he's on a 22h timer that's just not shown. The xmas tree is different,though. I collected yesterday late at night, but pretty early in the afternoon today.

I didn't get around to playing over the weekend, but last night I finally got a gem on my Christmas tree.

My Christmas tree gave me +5000 energy, +2500 coins, 5 wish stones and 5 gems.
