The 35 updates are for other apps, one per app I think.

Otherwise this is cool I guess, a lot of people were complaining about the game not available on first gen on iTunes Store.

You are correct. I update like 50 at a time. To much work to update them constantly.

I just updated so I could play Trap Team on my Mini. It looks awful, and runs awful, and the controller is uncomfortable and doesn't let you attack with the triggers. iOS 8 itself runs worse and is less convenient. I regret updating.

And that may be why they didn't originally support it. Maybe the DEMAND from customers caused Acti$ision to force developers who know better to put out an update. I can guarantee you VV was repsonsible and communicated the user experience to corporate, who, with big cigars and billion dollar sales said "who cares? they'll buy it. Build it!"
