It will be $5.99 and in regular stock again come February. If little Johnny is the type to throw temper tantrums if he doesn't get a Kaos trap for Christmas, mommy or daddy may be suckered into paying EBay prices for him now. Personally, I think $5.99 is too much for a trap regardless of whether or not is a Kaos trap, so I wait for sales. To each their own.

there are many Johnny's out there that will throw a temper tantrum. so it looks like the ebayers will get the money from the kaos trap instead of activision. that is how it goes when activision is holding back on the releases and trying to sell the dark edition.

for Fun i will point out that in the uk traps are £5.99
and right now that works out to $9.37
so all you who are paying $5.99 count your self lucky.

This is why the number of stores carrying Toys to Life items is dramatically decreasing outside of the US. High prices, waning interest, and less demand. I used to see Skylanders even in airports abroad when they were the big thing 2 years ago, but not at all these days. FYE and a lot of smaller stores in the US have already ditched them. I remember when JC Penny used to carry them 2 years ago at Christmastime...some Kohls stores as well.

Well, when you can order everything from a scalper on Ebay instead of paying 3 times the price in a book store, yeah of course there'll be minimal demand for Skylanders. Literally the only advantage I have from buying them in my own country is delivery speed, because otherwise there is no incentive to get a Phantom Cynder for ~22 dollars when I can get her for a much better price even with shipping included abroad. That's not even including how lazy they are to release the figures, as some waves never show up here or do after 4 months it's been released everywhere else(or on Trap Team's case, 1 month and counting for the game to even exist in here - not even preorders are on sight).

SO I'LL GIVE YOU WHAT YOU WANT

I remember that at Khols! We would get a $10 gift card in the mail now and then, and go buy an extra skylander for a few bucks... Without that promotion they were very expensive..

My wife & kid did their own dealing.. Because he wanted to make sure his fellow 5 year old school friend (TrapMaster homie) got a kaos trap for xmas, he convinced my wife to hit every TRU within 50 to 75 miles including Sarnia, ONT. They found 12 kaos traps. He gave 2 to his friends for xmas along with high fives and they sold the rest on "Evil-bay".. They average a rate of $35.00 each. I'm all for it because he is now buying gifts for his schools gift tree to help a school friends family. So sometimes what appears to be a "bad thing" due to capitalism can be turned around to do GOOD ! Keep searching "TRAPS" are out there !

There is nothing wrong with people selling Kaos Traps on eBay for these crazy prices. If people are crazy enough to pay 50 bucks for a tiny piece of plastic you could get for 5 bucks, then that is on them. Can't blame someone for trying to make a buck. These traps will slowly become easier to find and all the people who paid inflated prices will have huge egg on their face.

Things that are rare at the beginning are the ones that become common later when they correct course. Things that are common now tend to drop off the map because they see the lack of demand (Flashwing, Sprocket, Magna Charge, Crusher, Boomer, etc.).

EBay is way too risky these days from a seller perspective now that they've opened up a 6 month window to report any issues. It's a scammers paradise where you can buy a Kaos trap at $50 or $60 now and return it come March or April after you've found one in stores for $5 by complaining that a corner of the packaging was bent or some ridiculous excuse like that. I'm not saying it's right, nor do I encourage the practice, but just pointing out the reality of what EBay has become. Sellers are ditching EBay in droves and I'm sure some of these scalpers are going to get scammed themselves. Perhaps it's karma, but the new policies at EBay are quite unsavory to the honest people on the up and up who sell things since EBay almost always sides with the buyer when there is any issue.
