The Jak & Daxter games are really good though it's not been in the spotlight properly in comparison to Ratchet & Clank, which has the opposite end of the straw of being milked on the PS3 and even getting a film.
Despite my love for the design and lore, the third game had a cringe-worthy plot twist and it's ending felt a bit anti-climatic. Daxter's PSP adventure was fun but the racing game was unfair as heck and I don't think I'll ever play The Lost Frontier. Jak & Daxter needs a reboot that's more serious but still have the humor and chemistry of the dynamic duo.

First Jak & Daxter gets all the love. The second a lot less. The third a bit more. The lost frontier is still mixed, i'd say 70%

When I was a lot younger, I did play the first game, and I didn't really enjoy it all that much, I found it to be confusing with the wide open areas, and I was a lot more used to the level structure to the older games I played. But many years after, about three or four years ago I decided to try it out again, I mean, it had been at least ten years since I last played it, and I loved it, I enjoyed it so much more than before. There's still a few bits in it that I find annoying, but no game is perfect. Then some time after completing it, a friend of mine let me play his sequel; Jak II. I didn't really like the style or direction it was going in, didn't like it at all. I haven't played any of the others.

Jak & Daxter is one of my favourite game series. I've played all of the games (Jak & Daxter, Jak 2, Jak 3, Jak X, Daxter & the PS2 version of Lost Frontier).
The first game was also my first PS2 game. I recently bought the PS3 HD trilogy. I still like the first game. I've nearly finished the second but I had forgotten how hard it is at times. I don't remember much about the third game so I'm looking forward to playing through that one again soon.
