Shorter levels, much more similar to Giants and SA, in my opinion the best game so far.

It does seems to have a lot of bugs.

Thanks! Could you tell me how the traps work? Can they store any villain, or does it have to be the element of the trap? How many villains can you store in one trap? And also, I heard somewhere that you can only use the villains for a certain amount of time in battle. Is that true?

The traps hold one villain and boss battles have no limit but there is an achievement for it

Sure! smilie

A trap from a certain Element (the shape doesn't matter) will be able to capture all the villains from the same Element, but you can only store one villain at time inside it.
If you want to capture a villain, the one that's already inside the trap will be sent to the Villain Vault inside the hub, from where you can switch villains anytime you want.

Yes, villains can only be used for a certain amount of time, (usually the stronger they are, the shorter is the time) when playing a level, and will lose said time when hit. They have no time limit inside the hub.
You can complete special quests to increase the timer for each villain, and even give them a new look, though.
However, remember that the "evolved" status of a villain will be saved inside the trap, it won't be tied to the villain itself. Make sure you decide which trap will store the regular villains, and which one the evolved ones, if you want to have both versions.

Thanks for the in-depth answer! What do you mean evolved villains? And does that mean that you only need to buy 8 traps to get them all?

No problem. smilie

Evolved villains are villains that completed their Redemption Quests (some are simply "talk to the NPC" missions, while other are more like the SA and Giants Heroics), got a new look and an increased timer.
The "evolved" status is saved directly on the trap that stores the villain that completed the Quest, so if you are using a Water villain, evolve him and then re-capture his regular counterpart, he will already be evolved.
If you use another Water trap, however, the villain will be normal, until you do his Quest again with that trap.

Don't want to say too much, if you don't know some "secrets" yet, but yes, a trap for each Element is enough to play as all the villains.

You're welcome!

Just a quick question: you do know that a Trap Master from each Element is also required to 100% the game, right?

Spyro's Adventure was a good start.

Giants was not too bad.

Swap Force was great.

Trap Team is even better than the previous games. Even more playable characters, including Villains (not just Skylanders).

Blackout, we got the message already.

Trap Team is the best Skylanders game so far, unless Skylander 5 takes the cake.

One thing is sure: SWAP Force splitted most of the fanbase in half.

For some people it's a huge step forward (technically speaking it objectively is), while for others it's too far from the other two games, to feel like a true improvement (more like a different game).

Since he preferred Giants and SA he's probably gonna love Trap Team better. smilie
