Hey guys. I'm fairly new to the video game realm; I used to just play Skylanders, but I'm getting into some others. What games would you recommend to me for starting out my experience? Thanks!

First off, what consoles do you have? Some are console exclusive.

As for suggestions:
Super Smash Bros. (Any game)
Portal 2
Pokemon Omega Ruby and/or Alpha Sapphire(or just any Pokemon)

\end suggestions

If you liked Skylanders then maybe Castle Crashers, God Of War, Bayonetta 2, Wonderful 101, or Star Wars: The Force Unleashed might interest you. Mario is great for beginners being simple and challenging at the same time. Pokemon is the baby's introduction to RPGs. Call of Duty is also quite simple and a good time waster shooting anything you see and can bring you towards more FPS if it interests you. Portal is great as a challenging puzzle game that will confuse you with it's simple yet diverse game play.

Ahh, no PS3? I would have totally recommend Demon's Souls.

Get Dark Souls 1.
Skip Dark Souls 2.
Buy a PS4 for your next gen console.
Buy Bloodborne when it comes out.

If you have a 360 then I may recommend the Halo series. Forza Motorsport 4 is also a really good racing game. Skyrim if you want something in a fantasy setting. It also depends on what your personal tastes are in films, books, and whatnot.

If you like Skylanders, the Disney Infinity games is a similar gaming experience with the whole toys thing.

Well, for my first game other than Skylanders, I beat Rage, and then just ten minutes ago I beat COD: Advanced Warfare. Both were very enjoyable, and I got Ghosts from my brother, along with Batman: Arkham City. I've been eyeing up Portal, so if I can find a good price at GameStop, I'll get it.

Also forgot to mention that I bought an NES last week. Should be coming in the mail anytime within a week...

Thanks for the feedback guys!

when coming to the portal2 game online coop dont work anymore or have big problems working(a lot of people have problems with this). also since it have trouble with steam you get a lot of trying to save to profile(steam cloud i guess) and the game cant. then you get stuck and cant save the game at all. to get rid of the forever saving to profile, play it offline.

other than these problems its a great puzzler..

Ooh, for the NES, if you're looking for a great time spender, get Punch Out!!. It's a bit tough, but it has a lot of replay value.

If you're into RPGs, look for reproductions of EarthBound Zero. It's a fun (yet incredibly challenging) RPG.

If you want sidescrollers, look for Kung Fu and Ghosts N' Goblins (the latter of which is brutally difficult).

You might wanna look up some gameplay of the games I recommend. If you decide to get them, it'll help in the long run.

The Rayman games look pretty good, if I can find a cheap price, then I'll try it out. All of those Behemoth games have been downloaded by my brother.

Halo looks pretty good, and my brother (I've mentioned him so much for this) says it's his second favorite next to Reach.

Any Lego game after Lego Batman 1 if im not mistaken has voices if you want voices, but if not, any lego game is great too.

I'd also recommend Banjo Kazooie for Xbox 360, the entire series is in the Marketplace if I remember correctly. (I used to have one, but sold it for a Wii U for Smash)
P.S. Dont listen to the haters, Nuts and Bolts was a good game
