Gameboy ---> DS ---> ____?

What would you like to see for the next portable?

I say ditch the second screen, 720p+ screen is a must, and an OS that ****ing works with their home console.

SD card for memory like always.

The title is misleading.

the second screen will not be ditched, its nintendo being different than others. also to many games will lose compatibility and cant be sold as digital later on.... we dont need 720p on a handheld you wouldn't be able to see the detail because of the screen size anyway. but having better resolution should be done... the new 3ds that is coming in 2015, and the games that are made specific for that. dont run on older 3ds models and have better resolutions. because of more ram and faster cpu, so its being done done as we speak...

Why do I get the feeling they won't be ditching the 3DS anytime soon...?

The DS line isn't going anywhere for the time being, it's going to be a long while before they ditch their moneymaker.

I actually enjoy it and wish they would quit changing it so damn much!

also the old 3ds xl have been stopped produced in japan. so the new 3ds xl is the 'new next nintendo handheld'..

The New 3DS and 3DS run the same GPU. CPU and RAM don't play a part in graphics. The only improvement is that these games can finally run due to the extra CPU and RAM.

inb4 they move to a 3 screen handheld

3DS will probably stick around for another 4 years or so before they start talking to the public about a successor. And I get the feeling they will probably stick with a two-screen concept. Going back to single screen would feel like a step back unless they have something really special up their sleeves.

You'd probably sooner see another addition to the 3DS lineup following the "New" line.
