Quote: GhostRoasterQuote: Drek95Quote: GhostRoasterSurprisingly, the characters are still (for the most part) holding their own. I'll be gasping about the content until the very end, it would appear. (I'm not looking for 80+ hours of content here, but maybe a little more than 15?)
I think I've played a good 18/20 hours, before finishing the Story Mode, and have yet a lot of areas, quests, arenas and other things to explore and complete.
Yeah, a lot of that is aided with the upgrade grind for any characters you buy as well. Although evolved chompy chest on chapter 1 is pretty much a 5 minute process to fully upgrade a character...and then ~30 minutes to upgrade.
Well, actually I didn't even started Kaos Doom Challenges or Brock's Arenas, nor I intensively grinded with any character, before finishing the Story Mode.
I just calmly explored the levels, the Academy and unlocked what I could (only had Krypt King and Snap Shot, 'till the end of the basic game, then Gusto and Jawbreaker for the Nightmare Express and finally also Wallop and Wildfire for the Mirror of Mystery), and keep in mind that those 18/20 hours still relate to the basic Story, so no Adventure Packs included.
As for the Chomp Chest quick upgrading method, just because you can do it, doesn't mean you have.
Why would you take away
some fun, from a game that is already not convincing you that much?
Quote: Plordigian@mastermc54: that is possibly an indication that Acti has already decided to slowly kill the series. This is a multi-billion dollar company we're talking about here. We're supposed to believe that none of these issues came up in playtesting? They no longer care about satisfying discerning adult fans, nor attempting to give them their money's worth. It's a race to see how much more revenue they can make before everyone's had enough, and they move on to another property. That trend involves cutting cost to maximize profit, because the goal of cultivating and growing consumer interest (which requires attention to detail, quality, and innovation) has already been met; they made $2 billion already.
I personally have yet to experience a quality drop in this series, both in terms of figures and games.
Just because it has less content, doesn't mean it is a worse game, in my opinion.
Take LBP 3, for example.
I'm really sad to say this, but THAT is a game that is lower in quality, compared to it's previous chapters... Still an amazing game, but... Well, it misses something the other ones had...
Cannot say the same thing for Trap Team.
Could say the same, more or less, for SWAP Force, but in a quite different way and it's still not a quality drop.
Coincidentally, they have both been developed by different software houses, than the ones that created their brands.
