Don't know for sure, but guess so, since the various areas past them have specifical themes (and even elemental power zones) tied specifically to one of the two Elements.

I see, I was pondering whether or not I should get just Knight Mare or both

Hmm I'll probably end up getting Knight Mare and Spotlight (I like even numbers and getting half of everything)

Actually if you pay close enough attention, I think that certain gates have a lighter gray ( for light) and a darker gray (for dark)

Of course I dont have the game and im just going off of what it looks like to me in certain youtube videos, but if someone could verify....

You're right. The gates do have different coloring depending if it is Light or Dark.
