Quote: zer0dchQuote: shroom boomThe sonic fandom is like the worst fandom ever. they ***** about everything but the genese games like they're from god or something. the genesis titles have flaws too but no instead of pointing out those you put on your nostolgia goggles and complain about anything new that comes out before even trying it. here i have a piece of advece for you:
Take off your nostolgia goggle and wake up there are flaws in ALL sonic games not just the new ones.
Dont be an A@@ hole to other peoples opinions they can play any game they like without you ****ting on them.
What pot are you smoking? The Genesis Sonic games are pretty good and aged like fine wine. Could you pinpoint a few flaws for me in the Genesis Sonic titles (1-3&K)?
The new game is literally trash. The biggest Sonic fan on twitter game the game a 0/10, making remarks that Sonic Boom is tiresome and depressing to play.
There's also a handful of glitches and bugs. It doesn't even play like a Sonic fan.
TBH I despise darkSpyro for the fact no one can have a decent discussion and debate rather than a fight with people just butting heads, i appreciate that everyone has opinions and while people may not understand others viewpoints they aren't that person and therefore by telling them they are wrong are making no sense because opinions are completely subjective
Now that my little rant is over let me just say that I agree, the Genesis games are p solid, but there is one aspect that isn't that great.See, in the old games you wanna go fast, it's the appeal and what makes it so different from other platformer games for the most part, but there are so many speed traps that it seems like the game is punishing you for going fast and that's no good!
As for the "newer" Sonic games, for Sonic Adventure DX I thought it was brilliant when i bought it and frankly I still love it, save for the Amy and Big campaigns which are in fact completely atrocious to play and I stop playing when i beat all except for them. I thought Black Knight was way too slow and a bit too difficult but I can agree with what Sonicbrawler said earlier with that it had a pretty solid story, and even if you disagree it doesn't make it untrue, it's something that hasn't been done, which basically means originality (Even though you can argue it's just the story of Camelot in a Sonic game) Which is it but it's still unique for a Sonic game as opposed to just 'Uhhh, idfk, go fahst'. For Unleashed, it was fun for half of it, I agree with that, the werehog parts were kind of annoying and the hub world pissed me off, Colors I didn't like but I appreciate what they were trying to do. Generations is completely solid in my opinion, because it is what it is, it's a nostalgia playback with better graphics and that's fine by me, it was fun and wasn't too story oriented. I like the Seven Rings game or whatever is was called, I actually did, others may not have but this one I'm calling my secret obsession (Even though i haven't played it in years.)
One thing you can't deny is that for the most part the Sonic games music is great, I've never hated a Sonic soundtrack, now consider the fact I have not play all the Sonic games and therefore haven't heard all the soundtracks.
Even if you hate Sonic and SonicTeam at least they try to diversify in a certain sense, I mean, it's always gonna be 'go fast' but at least they try to change things up albeit even if only a little.
Iunno, these are my opinions, hate me if you want. disagree with me if you want. I just ask that if you disagree with my opinions you tell me in a civilized manner so i can appreciate your opinions aswell as opposed to me feeling crappy and you looking like a buttface.
Also I used to be friends with a large portion of the Sonic fanbase and while there are a lot of dicks and morons a lot of them are fairly understanding and can even admit when a Sonic game sucks.
Most people when they share their opinions of Sonic are either on the side of "Sonic games suck because they do" or "**** you, Sonic is good because I played it when I was a kid so it's obviously good." There are others but these are the main two. I'm kind of the inbetweener because I started during my teenage years and so i don't see it really with nostalgia glasses, but I enjoyed the games, save for a few which i didn't like which makes me unbiased for the most part.
Sonic Boom: rise of Lyric looks like crap tho so I'll give it my score which is based on the way IGN scores things
9/10 it was p bad
