I heard about this in either a Skylanderskids video or FamilygamerTV video. If it was the latter, I wouldn't be surprised if they were just making up mumbo jumbo

Activison/tfb made a joke about one before swap force was announced, they had told people 3 or 4 possible names for the 3rd game (one being real the others being fake) Skylanders Kaos alliance, Skylanders nano force, and skylanders Swap force. This was done so they could patent the game's name with out reveling it to the public yet. That may be where they got the info.

Actually there were talks about Activision doing a Skylanders movie. So maybe one day we can see that.
