So after being stubborn for so long, i finally decieded to give Trap Team a try and bought the Wii version (i play the Wii U version with the download code) and so far its a pretty fun game... not planning on buying so many figures this time but my question is.
IF i'm gonna buy a few Skylanders for this game, which ones would you Reccomend? and which Trap elements are the best?
I want to buy a Undead Trap tho just for Wolfgang

Trap Elements? Life is one of the best, Tech is pretty cool too, and Earth. Everyone in LIfe is awesome (Sheep Creep is just decent,) and Earth is awesome too! I've ordered one of each element for traps, but I plan on getting at least 2 per element, and more for cool looking traps. Villain Elements Best to Worst: Kaos, Life, Earth, Water, Undead, Tech, Air, Fire, Magic Cores?Fist Bump is cool, So is Tread Head, and, well almost everyone. This year is different, as it seems everyone even reposes are all awesome Skylanders! Chopper is the best core in my opinion though! Also, if you wait a while, you can get REALLY cheap landers off ebay/amazon Trap Masters? I'm focusing on traps and cores mostly now, but Wildfire, Wallop, Lob Star, and Snap Shot, and Gearshift are great I'm looking forward too Enigma (Magic), and Tuff Luck (Life) Happy Skylanders Hunting! |

Tech has some really good villains plus you need to upgrade a couple of the tech villains to access certain areas. Focus on getting trap masters if you want to open gates so any of the current skylanders are fine but personally the standouts so far are krypt king and wallop but they are hard to believe find. As for cores chopper, torch ans fist bump are pretty amazing.

For trap elements...I have been suggesting one of each element. If you can't my favorites are Life and Undead.
For Corelanders....Chopper, Blades, and Fist Bump are my favorites so far For Trap Masters.....Gear Shift, Wild Fire, Wallop, and Lob Star at my list of favorites |

Thanks i was thinking about Chopper, his design is cool and his attacks look great. Other ones that i kinda want are Wildfire and Crypt King i kinda want a magic Trap but the only villian i really love in the magic element is Pain-Yatta.(i kinda like Bomb Shell too) and there are sadly just three magic villians But happy to hear that everyone is awesome this year, got alot of dissapointing Skylanders with Swap Force to be honest.

Traps: All of the fire villains are amazing. Tech is amazing too. And Undead.
Cores: Get Chopper, he's awesome. Trap Masters: Wildfire, Wallop, and Bushwhack are all great. I tried to keep it simple. |

I seem to be the only one who thinks Fire villains are just okay. Chef PJ is pretty cool, Scrap Shooter I only like because he reminds me of the mafia Grinnade. Okay. Smoke Scream is fun too, plus, he's got dubstep! Hmm, well they are pretty good. I wonder if I should have gave my nephew my fire scepter... |

The only villains I use regularly are Kaos, Wolfgang, Hood Sickle and Chomp Chest. Magic is probably the worst.
I agree with most others on trap masters Wallop, Krypt King and to a lesser degree Gear Shift, Lob Star and Wild Fire. Chopper is a beast, Even though Torch doesn't look great to me her abilities are easy and fun to use.

I would recommend you to buy both of the adventure packs
I know they're expensive, but Blades and Déjà Vu are great characters and you get more gameplay As for the Traps/Villains, in my opinion Undead, Air and Earth are pretty good and also because of Golden Queen, Wolfgang and Dreamcatcher I think you should wait a bit for the really cool characters to come out like Enigma, Echo, Tuff Luck, Flip Wreck etc. But for now I would recommend Krypt King, Torch and Bushwhack I don't have Bushwhack by myself so I can't say a lot about him, but I would prefer Tuff Luck to open the Life gates (if you can wait) Krypt King and Torch are both VERY powerful characters so you should go and grab them If you want you can also get Head Rush or Wallop, but they're not a must have, the same with Gusto and Thunderbolt If you want the Tech gates, than GET GEARSHIFT!!!! For Magic you should definitely wait for Enigma and for Fire you can take Wildfire if you want IF you want minis, than just grab a pack with the minis of skylanders you like (if you like Spyro and Ninjini than grab the Magic Pack, if you like Hex and Eye-Brawl than go for Undead) Now for Cores I would recommend Echo, Flip Wreck, Bat Spin and Cobra Cadabra, the others aren't that great (except for Déjà Vu, Blades and Torch) Remember, these are only RECOMMANDATIONS you probably won't buy all of them, I just said a Trap Master from each element that I would prefer, hope it helps |

You should get one trap for each element if you can. They all have some pretty interesting villains.
As for actual figures, I agree with what Snap Shot said above: Focus on getting the Trap Masters. You need them to open the elemental gates. So if you want to complete the game, you need one from each element. That's what I'm doing. I am only buying one of each. Bushwhack and Wildfire are BEASTS. I love them. Gear Shift is also pretty great. Head Rush is decent. I like her, and I chose her over Wallop because of her overall design, but from what I hear, Wallop is way more powerful so I would probably go with him.

I'm less, enthusiastic about 'buying a bunch' this go around.
Traps? Tech - I don't love to play as any of hte tech villains. Magic - Painyatta - get it Life - Chompy + Broccli Guy...comes with the game, don't buy another one unless you want two Undead - Hood Sickle, best non-Doom Raider villain IMO Fire - Chef Pepperjack...worth it...the others...not so much Water - complete waste... Air - Bag Juju & Dreamcatcher are both worth it, get at least one Air trap Earth - toss up, no 'high-usage' villains, but Chompy-Chest & Golden Queen are both 'solids' that are nice to 'have', but you won't try and do a whole level with them. For Cores? Of the ones released thus far, Fist Bump seems the most 'involved'. Chopper is pretty good, but you just mash rockets, Treadhead is surprisingly better than I imagined, but still 'limited', Funny Bone is super 'meh', I haven't played torch, my son lost the one we bought him. For Trap Masters? Wildfire is GREAT, he's mobile, he's high damage, he protects objectives for arena and protects towers in Kaos mode with his 'pull in' fire chains. Gusto surprised me a bit...he's actually pretty fun once you get past his looks. Lob-star so far is the strongest. I'd place the next 'tier' of released trap masters at Wallop (high Damage and cna play melee or ranged as needed) and Gearshift (so adapatable - literally). Next teir would be Bushwack & Krypt King, they both attack slower, and while they both have some really cool looking stuff, its rarely that effective...cutting down a tree is so far my favorite looking move in the game, but its not super effective, and Krypt King's ghost sword looks cool, but you are better off spitting bugs and hacking and slashing with the sword yourself. I hope that helps... So for traps, I'd advise getting, air, fire, undead, magic, and if a good sale is going on - earth (5 traps) For cores I'd just get Fist Bump (to start at least, if money is there for more, then chopper is good too (1 maybe 2 cores) And Trap Masters - Wildfire, Gusto, and Lob-Star are the current go-tos, and if there is a sale or you decide to get more, I would then look at Gearshift & Wallop. - Unreall |

For traps, I'd say Undead has some of the best villains. Masker Mind can hypnotize enemies to fight each other and Wolfgang is just OP.
For cores, definitely recommend Chopper. He can deal quite a bit of damage. For Trap Masters, Wallop. Go with his tantrum path and you'll breeze through bad guys like they're nothing. |
