I thought Gru invented the minions? You can see a blueprint of their design on the wall of the kids' room in the first movie. Eh. *shrug*

I love Despicable Me as much as the next guy, but how are they even going to make a movie out of this? Just stupid mumbles and jokes from these things for an hour and a half? Yeah Sandra Bullock is going to play the other main character but she's more than likely going to be overshadowed by the minions themselves. And my guess is that she'll play the most important non-minion character.

I think it can work. It has the potential to turn out decent, and if it doesn't then I doubt it'll be anything worse than just mediocre.

making a movie/series starring the comic relief usually doesn't end well, i hope this is an exception
