I just got the Micro Comic on L-Deja Vu, and I was quite surprised by Spyro's role in it.

Besides the "design bashing", I'm just happy they put Spyro in the comic with a big role. I hope they do the same if they add him in future comics.

I think he doesn't look too bad in this actually. The in-game model looks rubbish though.

I'll definitely buy this one when it comes out in the UK.

Anyways I really like how the writers are going with that micro comic, because it's showing a common issue that kids have all the time. With depression when a contest. I mean there was at least a time in our lives where we felt like we couldn't do everything regardless how far we have gotten. Then Spyro shows up and tells them a relate-able story of how his was in the same shoes, but tried his best when some odds were against him. Basically telling Dejavu to try her best and all that. Which is a really important moral that kids should learn.

...Not, go pat yourselves in the back for being against a design that some people like somewhere else.

Though I really dislike the artist's choice of presentation sometimes. I get he's trying to be dramatic and realistic, but realistic isn't always pleasant with stuff like that frame with Cynder with her eyes closed because of reasons or parts of Spyro's face covered in strange ways because his head is too turned around.
But story-wise, at least they remembered Machine of Doom and the extended bio; keeping that continuity in the other media might be good someday if Acti ever allows the Skylanders' personalities into the main games; really hope someday they'll actually interact between themselves or even have smaller scale missions like the books where only small groups tackle it.

Spyro, "the most legendary of all Skylanders"

Well, iirc he was among the first Legendary Skylanders to be revealed, might be a joke towards that which doubles as implying he was the very first one to get a living statue in Eon's group. Though it could just be the writer throwing around words of grandeur; Hex supposedly is the oldest non-Giant/not-recently-unsealed Skylander around if Weather Wizard is to be believed, and despite Spyro being probably the one that shows up in nearly every mission, some of the other guys' backstories are nothing to scoff at.

I wonder if they'll give Cynder a big role too.

He looks really good in that angle, defiantly a lot more then his other 2D appearances.

It looks quite good. Not going to spend money on it, but it seems nice. <.<

I still think the older ones look less like an actual reptile than this one, being more like snarky-looking dogs with horns. But this isn't a place for a design discussion.

Spry was seen in Issue #3, but had the same screentime as the other Minis.

So, in theory, there could be an alternate Skylands where everything is made out of pudding? THAT'D BE AMAZING!

Well, the backstory for Minis in Lost Islands does say "Skylands is a world with infinite possiblities". So yeah, any AU is possible, it's just that the Minis found a way to canon-verse.

They chose to come from their world to help their bigger counterparts.

I like all the different Spyro designs.

I've noticed that I have some Skylanders comics at my local comic shop here in town. Since I don't own a next-gen console and I don't really want to put $70+ into a game that I'll hardly play, I might as well check out the comic book series! I'm happy that Spyro has such a big role in the comic. ^^

Everyone in these comics looks ugly. I've seen a lot of pages from them and a lot of the art is either downright creepy or incredibly janky.

Besides comic art criticisms, the short comic the comic strip above is from was added along with Issue 4. From the comic ending, we may see Spyro again.

Spyro has seen enough X to know where this is going and I don't blame him.
