im completely sick of gamefreak being incompetent and launching janky games with huge performance issues. their deal with ORAS and XY connectivity is also a load of crap. really don't want to give GF muh money.

i love me some ruby as it was the second pokemon game i played, but i think i'll keep it as that. I really don't think I'm going to pick it up. Instead, I'll pick Smash U and Persona Q up.

I know my twin brother is going to pick up Alpha Sapphire, I'll just wait and see if I get Omega Ruby from him for Christmas lol.

Personally I think the game is worth the cost despite being a "remake". The graphics are better then X and Y (The water splashes look so AMAZING). And it looks like it could have plenty of stuff to do after the main story. (like flying around looking for Mirage Spots to find legendaries and Pokemon Contests) along with the standard battling, catching, and now making secret bases.
Don't think of it as just a remake, think of it as a stroll in the past while running towards the future. True ORAS and XY won't have too much compatibility, but it will have the ability to trade which should be enough to transfer your stronger pokemon over.

I am kind of bothered by the fact that they aren't going to release a patch for X/Y to include the new Megas, Primals, and Abilities because there really is no excuse.
It's lazy, plain and simple.

I'm also bothered by the fact that trainer customization won't be returning, as this also seems very lazy on Game Freak's part.
I understand that Brendan and May are older characters and all, but that's really no excuse.

However, it does seem like the games will have quite a bit of post-game content, such as contest (which I've missed so much) and the Mirage Spots.
(which I find extremely interesting)

Also, with the return of Secret Bases (which I've also missed), I think there's going to be a lot more to do with these games then some of the previous installments.

So, yes, I will be getting the games, not only because Hoenn is my favorite region, but also because it looks like these games are going to have a lot more to offer.

I have to completely agree with the first three paragraphs here, except the contest part, as I never really did that with so few rewards.. Secret bases look interesting this time, I didn't like them in Ruby as they were too much work with a nonfunctional D-Pad.
I still have to decide whether or not to get one of em..

Yeah, no, gotta disagree there.

Patches are generally small bug fixes. Including the new content like you said is pretty much a DLC.
Which I think no 3DS Game has, don't quote me on that.

It also stops you from not buying the game if you're playing solely for battles. GameFreak has to win money somehow.

Uh, Ace Attorney: Dual Destinies and Mario Golf: World Tour would like to have a word with you over in that dark alley...

Getting back on topic, I actually never got to experience Gen III because I fell out of touch with Pokémon games around then. Ironically that was the part of the anime I paid closest attention to. So I want to get one of the versions so I can finally experience the Hoenn region for myself. <.<

I'm very divided on it. I usually stick to getting only one main Pokemon title per Generation (Sapphire, Diamond, White, Y) due to the games already being similar in gameplay as it is. But ORAS and the stuff it will supposedly have sound rather tempting, and it doesn't help that I've been surrounded by people who are similarly hyping the game up. Also the all important nostalgia.

I'll probably make a better decision when I finish the demo.

Super Smash Bros for Nintendo 3DS, New Super Mario Bros 2, and Fire Emblem Awakening would like a turn after they're done.

I don't know why people don't think Nintendo has much DLC. Mewtwo in Smash Bros alongside a Miiverse stage, Extra challenges in Pikmin 3, Costumes and stories available with Hyrule Warriors, heck, New Super Luigi U is essentially a gigantic DLC pack.

When you say Nintendo is behind the times when it comes to DLC, you're the one behind the times, as Ninty's not only been making DLC, they've been making great DLC.

On topic: I'm getting it, i'm just not very excited for it. I never player Gen 3, so it will be all new to me. The stuff they've added seems cool, but nothing really has honestly caught my attention.

Call me when they announce Gen 4 remakes, that's when I'm ordering my tickets for the Hype Train.

I'm not sure how I feel about Pokemon anymore. Ruby, Sapphire, and Emerald were my favorite pokemon games ever, Hoenn being my favorite region with my favorite pokemon but I just don't know how to feel about it. I'm into Pokemon for competition against others, which is evident in my apparently bad team building, as i just choose pokemon I like. I don't like the Mega's, heck, I don't even like Mega Gardevoir, no matter how beautiful and majestic she is. I feel they were unneeded and hinders some Pokemon. All Pokemon like Absol and Mawile needed was an evolution, not a mega. Sure it helps some Pokemon become better, but still. IMO I just think it was unnecessary, the only way I could see it as somewhat necessary being a new element to sell X and Y.

Well ORAS as plenty of end game by the looks of it (flying around to hunt legendaries and also the battle frontier type thing that was leaked and contests)

No I wont be getting the games.I have many for games that I want to get like SSB 3DS and hopefully FE:A even though it has been out for a bit I never got interested till now. Also I have lost my interest in the Pokemon franchise as XY disappointed me.

My parents also happen to hate my gaming habits as I tend to finish games quite quickly.(i finished Y in a day and Bravely Default in 3 days)

Then couldn't they offer it as free DLC? And, like others have said, some 3DS games do have DLC.

Oh, don't spew out that bull****.
Plenty of people have wanted Gen III remakes for quite a while. Plenty of people who haven't played Gen III want to get the games.
Plenty of people who didn't even like the original games want to get ORAS anyways, so they're gonna make plenty of money.
And plenty of people will buy it simply because it's Pokémon.

You're basically proving that Game Freak is greedy, so good job blindly defending them.

Are you kidding me? lol Just because one game "disappoints" you, you abandon the entire franchise? Lmfao.

You shouldn't have put so much faith into one game. lol

One game can really do that for a person. Look at all the people who gave up on Bloodborne because of Dark Souls 2.

Yeah, but I just personally find it to be dumb to just give up like that. It's their choice, though. *shrug*

Also, Pokemon is a bigger franchise, so it makes even less sense.

You may find it dumb and nonsensical but it's more widespread than you would think. If a recent release turns out to be a dissapointment, it puts a bad taste in a person's mouth and it makes them very wary of future releases because those releases build up on their predecessors or end up being more of the same. I had the same effect from Pokemon Diamond&Pearl which I absolutely hated. I almost didn't buy Pokemon Black because of it.
