It is, but I'll take it... just insures that I will get him and not planning on taking any chances with these guys if theres an easy way. I really like these elites, not just the power behind them, they also look so nice and shiny.

They may be shiny and whatnot, but I honestly don't see the point in making them so powerful, or where the fun is in that. Playing with them would just take all the challenge away.

They are so powerful because you are paying $25 for each one. If they didnt have that kind of power behind them there would be much less incentive to purchase them. Its a marketing strategy as always. (One I fall for every time... curse you need to collect them all)

Its really not so much the power, its more of appealing to collectors... they are shiny, come in their own display case, most likely on the more rare side, something not many people will get due to the price, and they're nostalgic for people that have been around since the beginning.

Can't wait to get all 8 of the EE skylanders (the 3ds version says there are 8). Already have the first 2 paid off. Plus I plan to use them on nightmare mode.

Whoah! I'm tempted. Nov. 1st is my B-day, and I started playing Skylanders with Trigger, so he's kind of the leader for me.

Not only that, but there looks to be considerable space between the figure base and the bottom of the case. I suspect you won't be able to play with them without removing them from the case, which equals two purchases for the hard core collectors.

Yup, in the last HDroom interview the guy managed to put them in the portal and they almost had loaded fully before a dev removed them since it was before the game was even out.
