One of my son's friends came over with his copy of TT and some characters to show us the game. I am desperately trying to collect and keep this as a Christmas present. The friend talked about "trinkets" and that they are somehow like hats. I was unsure what he was talking about, so I looked around and can find nothing on the topic. Anyone have any insight?

Trinkets are now part of "Outfits," you can put hats on your characters as always, but now you can also put trinkets somewhere on them. They'll appear on their front, back or on their arms, usually.
As far as I know they are only for appearance, they don't give any stat boosts like hats though.

I was hoping the Outfits include shirts, pants, shoes, etc.

Some go onto the tails of dragons and other quadrapeds.

Completely stupid feature. I guess they had to get rid of PvP for this.

I wouldn't say it's completely stupid, as I like the idea of customizing the look of your lander. That said however, I've been rather disappointed with most of the trinkets. The cyclops teddy bear backpack and bubble gum (on some landers) being exceptions so far. I don't see why they couldn't give them stat boost just like hats do.

So do you find them throughout the game like hats, or are they a strictly purchase from the shop deal? Thanks for the info.

Some are unlocked with Portal Master Rank, some are found in areas in the Academy, other can be purchased at Auric Store.

This 500% They got rid of PvP because if there is a family with only one child and the parents and friends don't like to play video games how would they play PvP? Online? Yeah that would be pretty cool but random people would probably just start friending little kids trying to get their information.

Kaos Mode is a million times better than PvP. My family and I have already spent tons more time on Kaos Mode than we have in PvP in all previous games combined. Plus there is far less arguing when just the kids play.

The trinkets are just additional accessories for your Skylanders to wear, alongside your hats.

Since the topic changed a little, I would like to add that our TT is still hidden as part of holiday gifting. We are all looking forward to the Kaos Mode, but will miss being able to pvp. My kids and I would play it in a tournament bracket style to determine the best skylanders/portal master of the house. I do not always win.

Although I do concur that the Trinkets are stupid, I like to put them on my Skylanders anyways. The color-changing bubblegum looks great on some of my female Skylanders like Cynder, Roller Brawl, Flashwing, and Whirlwind. The medals are quite exquisite on some of my male Skylanders, including Spyro, Snap Shot, and Blades. However, the Outfits features would have been way better with actual articles of clothing like shirts, pants, shoes, etc.

As far as trinkets go, almost all the ones I've unlocked so far have been medals and brooches. I'm pretty sad that there could be way more interesting ones (like the pipe), it's an idea that had some potential, but most of the trinkets seem to be pretty bland.

Does anyone know if a sunglasses trinket exists? Drobot would look sick with some sunnies.
