I just signed up. My username is Dragonsgohrr and I'm a light dragon thingy.

I was just getting started and now it's down for maintenance god dammit.

Maintenance period lasts for half an hour from midnight site-time, just a little heads up.

I failed my driving test. My tires touched the curb. The guy told me to drive back to the starting position and that he'll see me next time.

I feel so stupid and now I have to pay $150 dollars to do it again.

I actually like the random aside from that Red third color. Oh and starter's third is Sky.

Then I bought 4 things to use solely for breeding an army of Obsidian/Obsidian/- Guardians with circuit.

Then there's this pretty thing:

Most of the non-generated dragons I had when I started are exalted (they were boring basics, naturally), but I still keep this one around for some reason. She's the first dragon I ever bought... and I haven't even gened her up a bit because I'm too lazy

I still have some of my older dragons from when I started. I bet they feel like old geazures now.

I actually didn't buy the third one in that post. Sky showed it to me in a chat and thought it was pretty so she bought it for me since she knew I would be joining when things opened again.

The 4 I bought for 10k each are Basic/Basic/Circuit. Only difference between them is the third color and then native type.

People keep saying all this stuff about primarys and tertiaries and soils about Fluffy and I don't know what any of it means??? Why does it need a tertiary? What is that and how do I do it???

Primaries and tertiaries refer to the dragon's colors. The tertiary won't show up unless the dragon has a tertiary gene that isn't basic.

Play games in the Fairground (Shock Switch is the fastest way to do it IMO), bond with familiars, trade items in the Trading Post, digging under 'Gather Items' to get chests with items and treasure, breed and sell in the auction house, exalt dragons, etc.

Additional note on the Fairgrounds: There is no 'right' game to play. Just play whichever one is most efficient/fun for you.

They are genes that affect what patterns the dragon has.

Primary genes give the dragon a body pattern (e.g. Tiger gives it tiger stripes, Iridescent (Iri) gives it a shiny rainbowy texture). Secondary genes affect the wings and some other bits like head crests on some dragons. Tertiary genes are extras that can go over either, e.g. Underbelly or Circuit.

You can always see the primary and secondary colours on a dragon (body and wings) but if the tertiary gene is basic, you won't be able to see the tertiary colour, so if you have a badly-matching tertiary on a dragon you love then you can just not give it a tertiary gene and it will be hidden forever.

(Maybe play around on this tool to see what different genes look like on different dragons.)

You can only get genes by buying them in the marketplace (see under "Shop" subheading on the left) or the Auction House (a.k.a. AH) but the marketplace sells them a tad cheaper, especially if your flight has dominance discount. The genes are all pretty expensive-looking but trust me, you can make that money with not too much difficulty at all.

Iridescent/Shimmer are more expensive because they are bought with gems- the currency that uses real life money- although some people sell them on the AH for treasure, but a lot of it. Or you could just save up gems, but that's pretty hard...

And gosh darnit other new people I want your lairs for my first post hoard.
