I just noticed... NONE of my Trap Team figures rattle!

This was something I came across during Swap Force that I never knew about, but I just remembered and decided to check my new figures, and guess what (spoilers in the title) not a single rattle.

Does that mean that these were maybe made to a higher quality? Or could it just be a coincidence?

I hope the former.

What about you guys, any Trap Team rattles your end?

Yup they do rattle still. My smilie and smilie rattle and so does my brother's smilie. I have managed to stop the rattling in all of them however. Even the smilie I got does that.

I sound VERY stupid, but for the rattling, do you mean that when you shake the figure, it makes that sound?

He means when the RFID chip inside the figures' bases. The chips inside tend to get loose and they start rattling.

If that hurts your hopes for TfB producing higher quality figs than VV, don't compare the variety of colors used on sculpts like Wildfire vs Trap Shadow, or the amount of detail on figures such as Gusto vs Stink Bomb, and whatever you do, do not compare the digital sculpts for TT vs SF. Granted, VV really had to knock it out of the park and make a good impression for their first main-series entry, but good grief; TfB not only did NOT accept the challenge, but completely failed to receive the memo re: progressive evolution of quality. With some exceptions, Trap Team is the Duplo to Swap Force's Lego.

You must be kidding.

Nearly NO SINGLE SWAP Force figure (especially the Swappers themselves) can be remotely compared to the quality of the Trap Team ones.

Aside from the fact that EVERY SINGLE Swapper figure has a metallic colored part, on it (except maybe Doom Stone), and that's kinda makes them even less unique, the plastic used for the toys is simply worse. It's less solid.
There are almost NO FIGURES (Cores included) with shades on them, the colors are less precise and the overall look cheaper (there are a few exceptions).

Just compare Snap Shot and Food Fight with Wash Buckler and Blast Zone.
No match. They also get a few extra points for looking like proper Skylanders (yes, talking to you, Swappers).

I hate Wildfire coloration too, but he's literally one among dozens!

It might not be V.V. fault, but that's the sad reality.
We'll see what they'll be able to do, with the fifth game.

So, since you never had a rattling gimmick figure, before Trap Masters, it means there can't be any in the world, right?
That makes perfectly sense.

My Doom Stone rattles.
It's not a "quality" issue.
It's something that has happened since SA. And doesn't affect the game experience, or figure aesthetics in any way.

Or, simply put, another inconsistent whine against the better made Skylanders game so far, both in terms of quality and gameplay.
You may or may not like it, but that's the reality.

I must be dumb and blind, as the figure quality has been pretty much the same. I'd say there were more paint problems later in Giants, but give or take has been pretty consistent since. Are you guys saying the toys feel cheaper this go around? I've yet to feel a Trap Team toy in my hand.

Yeah, yeah...
Sorry, I must have overreacted...
Sorry, it's that, I am ill right now, and the fever doesn't help the self-control...

I just feel that there have been too many unrightful complaints, about Trap Team, and I'm sorry other people aren't enjoying it as much as I am... smilie

Yes, something along those lines.
But I can guarantee you the toys feels extremely solid and well made.
They are just back to the Giants and SA feel. smilie

Admittedly going off topic here (none of my 'Landers rattle except Quick Draw smilie), but my impression of the figures this year is that TfB knew they were not willing to attempt to match the detail and textures of SF, so they designed with the theme of big, solid chunks of clear plastic. Traps and weapons draw attention away from the difference in their figures and VV's. And what's the quality gimmick? Villains who have no physical toy. I hate to keep harping on Gusto and Wildfire, but they are both included in starter packs and both show a distinct lack of creativity in either color scheme or texture. I had big hopes for Gusto until I actually held the figure in my hand; his eyes are painted on with almost no texture and his chest design is weak and seems an afterthought. Snap Shot was designed well, but Wash Buckler, Blast Zone, and Ninja Stelf all have intricate details and dynamic colors.

@Drek95:
Legitimate self-doubt is reflected in both an attempt to push opinion as objective "reality", and a perspective one feels compelled to defend at the expense of self-control. Not sure what an "unrightful" opinion is, but we are all entitled. And we're all fans here, no need to get so worked up. smilie Take it easy, and get well soon.

There are a lot of opinable aspects, in Trap Team, but the quality of the game itselfs isn't simply one of them.

The graphics are better than SWAP Force, which had incredible visuals, but lacked deep texture differences (almost everything looked like it was made out of clay, or metal, the only exceptions being plants and fur) that have been restored in Trap Team.
A quite big portion of older characters has been visually brought back to the older aesthetics, just in better defined versions, as some of them were changed a lot, in SWAP Force (most notably Swarm and Bouncer being too shiny and wooden or stone made Skylanders made out of clay).
The animations are sweet and fluid (especially the villains ones), unlike those of the previous game, wich were still really great, but ended up being too realistic and partially changing a lot the different characters gameplays.
The characters have great personalities and are "deeper" than the SWAP Force ones.
The gameplay has been finally brought back to the old glory, with puzzles and side missions (that is a thing you may or may not like, but this is a true Skylanders game, not a game with Skylanders characters in them).
There is a great level variety, and the details in them are simply stunning.

These aren't opinions.
These are facts.

Of course, the Skylanders, story, a part of the gameplay and some choices can surely be criticized, but we are indeed looking at a really great and amazingly made Skylanders game.

None of my my 174+ figures ever rattle when shaken. For those that do rattle, how roughly are your figures handled? Are they handled by kids often? How do you guys store them? Are they often near a heat source, ie sunlight or game consoles, that could cause contractions to the bases or plastic? Do they rattle straight out of packaging or after time?

Of the several I own I have had ones that rattled out of the box, and I always store my figures well, it is well known that certain figures are just like this.

I don't know if that's a figure related issue.
The Portal does seems to have a hard time reading toys, sometimes.

It is probably only a matter of getting used. I'm sure it will get better, playing the game.
