I think I might only get one Trap Master from each element, but I can't decide between Gusto and Thunderbolt and Krypt King and Short Cut. So, Krypt King or Short Cut and Gusto or Thunderbolt? I'm leaning towards Short Cut and Gusto, but I can't make up my mind.

Having used them all, Krypt King and Thunderbolt beat out their counterparts. Thunderbolt excels at AoE attacks and can clear out a lot of enemies quickly, as well as having utility against bosses; by comparison Gusto's inhale is useless sometimes, and his boomerangs don't have the same range. Krypt King is slow, much slower than Short Cut but he can attack at a much farther range and his swarm can do a lot more damage and heal a lot more than Short Cut's minions.
But you don't have to take my word for it. ![]() |

Kung Fu Man, not meaning to be rude but...
How the heck have you used thunderbolt and short cut if they aren't even out yet?

[quote=Kung Fu Man Weaker than their regular counterparts in terms of gameplay.[/quote] What do you mean by this. Also I would like to know the long story on how you got to play them already. Feel free to msg me.

Ok, cool. I'll probably get Thunderbolt instead of Gusto. I was never really a big fan of Gusto anyways. It was just that he is already out and that I couldn't tell if Thunderbolt was that good or not based on his trailer, because they mostly showed the same attacks and they don't show damage on trailers. I'm still not completely sure about Krypt King and Short Cut. I hope Short Cut and Thunderbolt come out soon so I can watch reviews and gameplay videos on them.

Based on some personal gameplay and videos I've watched...I prefer Gusto and Short Cut.
They are more unique in my opinion and differ more greatly from others similar in their same element. |

Short Cut's only redeeming factor is his cuteness. From what Kung Fu Man said it that deleted topic, Short Cut has to be SUPER close to enemies to attack them, and his minions don't do much damage compared to Krypt King.

This is pretty much the problem with him, and a similar one with Blastermind. Much of their attacks will work on small enemies, but fall apart when dealing with larger swarms that can win by attrition (lose one, the rest will keep marching) or larger enemies that are immune to the attacks outright. Short Cut's biggest problem is his range, but it's made worse by his speed. You can get several quick chops in but by doing so you have to close in on the enemies and unless you're careful can end up walking right into said enemies taking damage. His puppet alleviate this a little bit, but you'll have to drop them and kite the enemies around, which doesn't make for very engaging gameplay. |
