I feel like 90% of the characters in Trap Team ramble on. We get the point of what we have to do, no need to try for a hit and miss joke at the end of every sentence. I don't think the game takes itself very seriously (Until the hellish final boss.) Also, who wrote Flynn's script? Why does he have to say Boom at the end of every sentence? I know he usually does that, but they totally overdid it in this game to the point where it was annoying. I think it's time to retire him, cuz all the boom totally ruined the story scrolls too. If they should even be called that anymore. Does anyone else think this too?
Other than that, great game Acti!

i understand why people could find it annoying, humour is an incredibly subjective thing.

personally, i enjoyed the humour, it is the kind of jokes i like and quite often make myself, you know the ones, the "bad dad jokes".

I particularly found the Nightmare Express really funny,

its told from Flynn's point of view, so Cali is fawning over him, rather than her usual disdain, and Flynn's spin on every situation, making it somehow he is awesome, when clearly he just fell over or dropped it or something made me laugh

i don't know if i'm looking too far into it, but i felt the over-done-ness was on purpose, the example of

tessa in the Sky highlands level, "Flynn said to say "give them a boom to the boom, if you know what i mean, which i didn't, but i thought i'd say it anyway"

makes me think the writers know how annoying Flynn's "booms" all the time are, and that the point.

again, humour is a very subjective matter, even within one person, depending on my mood sometimes i find something hilarious, but then another time i watch it, it just annoys me, so i can completely understand why people feel this way.

agree on the story scrolls though, they should have been re-named something else, coz there aint no story in them

How about "Flynn's Scrolls of Boom-ness" - or "Boom Scrolls" for short? XP

Skylanders Academy Season 2 was an improvement.

What's worse is that in this game, like Swap Force, you CAN'T skip dialogue, at least in the tablet version... why would they keep one of the negative things about Swap Force, yet carry almost none of the positive things over?

Flynn is great. He's the most important element of the game for me. Each to their own.

I've found that you can skip some of it, but for some reason some of it you can't skip. It can be annoying doing speed runs.

That stinks! Aside from Rufus, that's the main reason I didn't like swap force too much.

I get that some people like Flynn, but you can't really deny that they overused him. He's been in every game except the 3DS version of SSA. It's just after 4 years in a row of him I think we need a breath of freash air, I want another character like Count Moneybone or the Golden Queen. But that's just me, I used to like Flynn before he said Boom in every sentence and destroyed the story scrolls.

I thought there was to much rambling and I am not even half way through the game yet. So much so I find it hard to pick back up and seriously going to take back the un-opened characters and trade the dark version in on the wii u at a local trade shop after I complete the story mode. So far find it so hum-drum its pathetic.

You know, this is something that has grown on me. Kaos really rubbed me the wrong way with his super cheesy lines in the first game, but now I find him really funny. I really like some of the verbal things that some of them say. One of my favorite audio things in any of the games was the crowd chanting the name of your figure when you did well in the arena in Giants, it was really cool. I also really liked Double Trouble humming "Ride of the Valkyries" while doing his blast and Terrafin's "Jaws" theme when he is burrowing.

Flynn has grown old, his schtick was funny but it is mainly a one note thing. Tessa's introduction gave it a little more legs, I think her interactions worked much better with him that Cali's standard "sarcastic sidekick" bit. I like Patrick Warburton a lot in his voice work (and if you haven't seen him in the live action The Tick, you are missing out), but based on his comments about Skylanders (he really had no idea what it was all about when asked) it was clear he just phones this one in.

I thought the same thing up until chapter 13 or so. The game really picks up after that.

Patrick W. is hilarious and his voice is perfect for Flynn but Kaos was a lot funnier in this game, especially during the credits. smilie
