US Ebola Patient Has Died >Update< [CLOSED]

A nurse who helped care for Thomas Eric Duncan, who recently died from Ebola, is now infected.

Also, the nurse in Spain is making some signs of improvement.

The end is neigh.

Just be mindful of who you come in contact with and practice stringent hygiene. Although, if the person carrying the disease decides to cough and splutter everywhere, then it won't be of much use.

The real question is if this individual transferred the disease to anyone else? And are people still flying in from West Africa or is the government stepping in to curtail travel to/from that region? <.<

I think airports are starting to do Ebola screenings. Not really sure how that works, but that's what I've heard. I've also heard about people debating on whether people should be able to travel to/from Africa while this is going on. But this is all memory based, so I could be wrong.

I have reason to think that she's just pointing out how this is pretty much an epidemic that could be starting to take hold; not that she's trying to make it sound like it's not a big deal in the US.

That a lot of people have already died, one person dying in the US doesn't make them anymore special than the rest.

Well my post was negated....

The big news about it, aside from being in a first world country like the US, is that ebola has finally begun to spread elsewhere in the world, including in countries with significantly better medicine and ways to combat such diseases. I'm sure the Spaniard that died made headlines in the EU for similar reasons.

Also US citizens tend to travel all over the world so there's that too.
