I went today to pick up my Starter pack from Target that I pre-ordered awhile back (to get the Limited trap).
I also picked up the Nitro Krypt King as well.
When I went to the Electronic register the Register associate told me that I get the trap and the Nitro Krypt King for free.
He said there was an email sent out this morning with the info.
I walked out just paying for the Starter Pack and got the Limited trap and Nitro Krypt King for free.
That was a nice surprise.

Did it ring up that way or did they have to override it? It seems like they may have been confused. Was the limited trap the one that was supposed to be free with pre-order? That would make sense. As for Krypt King, I think she got confused with the sword that was supposed to be free. So it seems the cashier made a mistake in your favor.

Actually I was behind 2 people inline that had that happen to them also. I was at target for Nitro Krypt King and Outlaw Brawl and Chain. The Target register rang it up that way as a promo they didn't need to override the register.

We had the same thing happen too, when my wife got back to the car and said it just cost $80 I had a look and yeah it rang up as a free for the preorder trap (expected) and Nitro Krypt King (unexpected).

Did anyone do an online preorder from Target? Mine hasn't shipped yet

The Target ad makes mention of a free Krypt King sword with purchase of the starter pack. I think there must've been some miscommunication on what the free item would be and there must've been a company-wide e-mail sent out that morning (or the night before) saying that Nitro KK would be the free item.

I got Nitro free, too.

I ended up nixing my Target pre-order and just buying Nitro and the OB&C trap @ Target due to the B1G1-50% at TRU. Even the $21 in Target freebies could not beat the $35 I saved on the 1/2 price 2nd starter pack at TRU.

As many have confirmed, there was no over-ride.
It was automatic.
At the time of checking out I asked about the free Toy Sword and he (Associate) said "Oh, you mean the free character with the big sword? The one you have in your cart? (I had Nitro Krypt King in my cart)" This is how I got it free.

Before checking out I went up and down the isle looking for the Toy sword but could not find it so that is why I asked at the register.

I picked up my preorder from Target this evening. I also got NKK for free. However, the workers there knew absolutely nothing about OB&C. The main worker was guessing that he must be in the trap inside the starter pack since the preorder card shows the same water tiki trap. But since I don't see any Target exclusive advertising on the starter pack, and since I'm sure I've read on here that people have gotten a separate OB&C trap, I'm pretty skeptical. I also talked to the guy's manager. Apparently they unboxed all the TT stuff, and didn't see anything like what I was trying to describe.

So what's the deal? Is the OB&C you get with the preorder included inside the starter pack, or is he a separate item? If it's a separate item, does anyone have any links, pictures, SKUs, etc. that I can take back to the store with me? I can't find anything on Target's web site, and they couldn't find anything in their system. Or failing that, anyone know a way to search for inventory in other nearby stores?

Notice the Sticker on the top left and the "Only at Target" on the top right

It could be that they sold out of them if you did not get him on Sunday (Release date)

It seems that either there was confusion on the free item or they didn't get the swords in so they are supplementing Nitro Krypt King.

ob&c is a seprate trap, just go to another target

Did anyone with a pre-order try to buy the dark edition with it? I'm wondering if I could purchase the dark edition and get Krypt King and the OB&C free....

I actually found the "sword" they were to give yesterday. It's a blow up sword they had them by electronics. Id take pictures of it but my phone was completely dead. The toy of nitro def was a better bonus by far.

I returned my Starter Pack to Target. The deduct $12.50 from the original cost, but since I was not expecting a Free Nitro KK, I am happy with a $12.50 one.
