I'm pretty picky. 1 year younger, or 1 year older. Having parents who are 8 years apart in age is even a big gap for me. Just not my cup of tea.

Yeah, my parents have a 5 year age gap. It used to disturb me thinking "Dad was in 5th grade when Mom was in First grade...." but now It hardly feels like any big deal. Although I do feel kinda picky, especially when it comes to dating someone significantly younger.

I've never really thought about it before, but I guess 2 for younger and 1 for older. Then again, that could change as I get older. 16 is, imo, an awkward age to think about getting romantically involved with anyone far outside my own age.

I'd prefer to date someone within a year of my age, but I'd probably be willing to go up to 3 years older or younger (maaaaaybe 4) at my current time. Anything more than that could be pushing it. But that mentality is due to my age, as well as my parents having been only 6 months apart in age.

A topic about dating and more so the age gap of partners, that is interesting because for the reason that this is probably the utter most hypothetical subject for me to talk about. But I cannot see a reason not to say my opinion about the matter. So here I go.

I think that the maximum age difference for me should be 5 years. This applies to the scenario where I am the older part of the dating couple. At this point of my life it would be ideal to date someone who is doing one’s own studying etc. so the theoretical significant other would be available on nearby geographical location. And that scenario begins to be probable in that certain age difference.

But if I was dating a person older than me, the situation would be different. I think that if there are two consenting adults who fancy each other and enjoy each other’s company, the age is not a factor, well at least to me because I do not desire for the traditional life goals of relationships in my life. But I think that at this phase of my life the carnal factor of sex appeal is quite a dominant essence in my criteria so I have to say that maximum age gap when going out with a person older than me is twice my age.

So in a nutshell I would say that the age gap I would want to choose my partner consists from people 5 years younger than me to people twice my age. So there you are.
