Like, Their gameplay? In Giants they were decent, in Swap Force They were nerfed, and useless and slow, and were pretty much the same size as some swappers... how are they like in Trap Team?

They seem to be the same as in Giants again, from my limited experience trying them. For example Tree Rex once again has huge range on his attack and is quite large and powerful. However of course there isn't anything special for them to do like pull islands or smash through floors like in Giants, and they don't have Giants-only chests like in Swap Force, but there are occasionally rocks that only Giants can pick up and throw at enemies.

It makes sense when you think about it - this game was made by TfB who also made Giants (and the original) and the game clearly is using the same engine. Swap Force was made by VV with their own engine, so a lot of the nerfs and buffs may not have been VV intentionally nerfing or buffing characters, but from them having slightly different "interpretations" of how the characters were supposed to work. Its like VV got the animations and a spec sheet for the characters but the designer and programmers were free to interpret what those specs exactly meant, whereas TT probably just kept the code from the previous characters in tact as it originally was. That's my theory.

Giants were great, but they don't have jump attacks smilie
But they can lift up boulders in some levels (Rainfish Riveria) and they are useful in Kaos Mode.

What...?

They cannot jump-attack...?
I thought every single Skylander could do that...

Yes the Giants can jump attack, he's wrong. When it comes to the older Skylanders, I'm pretty sure all of them have at least one jumping (mid-air) attack, but its not necessarily their primary attack. Tree Rex can shoot in the air, for example, he just can't do his ground pound or charge attack in the air. Crusher can explode into rocks in mid-air. Thumpback can actually use his primary attack (swinging his anchor) in mid-air, but it will still just swing forward and not slam the ground or anything.

Honestly hardly any Skylanders have an actual unique jump attack, most of them just have 1-3 of their normal attacks that can be used during a jump, even with the new cast. For example, in my set of new Skylanders, Blades and Snap Shot have unique animations when they attack in the air where they slam the ground, but Torch, Chopper, Funny Bone, and Food Fight do not. They all have jump attacks, they just aren't special-case unique ones (though Chopper can enter "flight mode" by pressing jump again in mid-air, which the upgrades make it sound like you need the Soul Gem for but he can do it from the start, so he kinda gets a special jump move). Every old Skylander I've tried so far also has at least one attack they can do during a jump, including the 3 Giants I own.

Do Eye Small and Mini Jini play identically to their giant counterparts? Can they trample chompies?

Drek95, technically, Giants have the screen shake shockwave slam as a jump attack.

Oh, ok, then.

So at least one attack can be done in mid-air.
Seems fair enough.

Thanks. smilie

Giants can still smash through doors that normally require bombs, which is useful to save time searching for a bomb. Its definitely worth keeping at least one Giant nearby while playing this, even though there aren't any Giants-only chests like there were in Swap Force.
