The biggest day 1 slap in the face

So at my local target there was only 1 Krypt King left(they overstocked Nitro, but I don't like Nitro).
So I grabbed it and bought it. When I got back home I opened him up and saw the worst paint job on a skylander ever.

How many times has this happened to you

This never happened because I check the paint job at store since we clearly see the figure through the packaging.

I'm sure it's happened to all of us...even the ones that check. Sometimes in the heat of it you'll miss a defect or three. It happens.

RIP GhostRoaster. He's reanimated as TakeYourLemons but occasionally is resurrected from the beyond when needed.

I saw some very poorly painted figures this go around.

I saw quite a few badly painted Krypt King. The figure has the disposition to make polished paint jobs more challenging.

Happened to me today with a highjinx, there is red or orange on the skull base. I can only blame myself for purchasing her, all my other figures are beautiful though.

I am not sure how you could consider that the biggest slap in the face. What if they didn't have one at all?

Happened to me today. All the Gearshifts at the store had messy blue paint splatters on her except the one I bought. Wildfires had some paint chips. Food Fights were sloppy too. Most Krypt Kings I saw had messed up red eyes/mouth and slop through too.

At these new prices they should be perfect. These are pretty damn expensive for non articulated figures now.

In past history it's been that a few have horrible paint. This time it was more like all of them had minor blemishes.

Luckily I don't have that problem because I've decided Trap Masters are not worth buying.

Very happy with new content for my old Skylanders (some are still level 1), and will pick up a few traps too. I like this game - it's so much cheaper that the previous 3. Thanks Activision.

I think the paint job on ALL Dark Food Fights is somewhat suspect. Given it was on every single one I saw, I'd say the paint design was a poor choice. Fading the grey onto the black just didn't mix well. When mixing two contrast colors, the fade is very tricky, they would have been better off not doing it that way. Those colors work much better on the small scale when there are sharp lines between the two colors.

The Krypt King we got ended up having a bent sword handle which I luckily noticed before opening the package. He was one of my son's instant favorites during previews, so he picked it out but didn't notice. Had to make a second trip to Toys R Us to exchange it, luckily they had plenty.

I saw at least another Krypt King with the same bent sword handle, but one other was even worse: the actual blade was curved in two places, like a wave! I feel for the kid that ends up getting that one.

I don't really care too much about paint jobs, as long as there's not a giant smudge of randomly colored paint on the figure or something. There was a tiny dot of silver paint smeared on the head of my Ultimate Kaos Trap yesterday (it actually wiped off almost instantly smilie), but I got it anyway as it was the last Wii U dark starter.

I grab every box and check them thoroughly, and everyone in the store just watches me like I'm crazy.

This is what happened to my Ninjini.
But I don't really care.
