I'm o.k. with the tease as long as we get some kind of clue/hint/spoiler in the end game cutscene.

Humongous' real name is Tae Kwon Crow, not sure why it's not right in the game on the dialogue boxes.
When you trap him, it's Tae Kwon Crow.

Well oddly enough now the game in many peoples' videos now say Tae Kwon Crow for that bird villain and the robot is called Blaster-Tron and agreed. I wanted to catch Fisticuffs really badly and now I can't play as him until Eon knows when that will be.

I'm really surprised the player's guide hasn't mentioned anything. Someone has to have gotten a copy at this point.

Someone who got the strategy guide said the question marks were on the guide too, nothing on the new elements as well, just mentioned them as mystery.

Wow so the trap carrier and strategy guide are being sold as incomplete products (aside from the trap carrier having the correct amount of holes)...nice. Man they are really stepping up the money grab in this installment. You know there's going to be a second version (safe assumption) of a guide or a standalone guide with the added elements and Adventure pack levels.

The game is officially released now, even if it hasnt gotten to the States yet. The cloak and dagger stuff has run its course. It was annoying before, its just asinine now.

I won't have a copy until Sunday on my end, so I can't offer any help doing recon and figuring out what's hidden in there, if I can datamine it anyway. But yeah I care little for this "hidden items" stuff myself and would rather they just spell out what's in there so we don't get broadsided for our budgets.

I have a feeling that they will be revealing the next game sometime in April like they did with swap force and at toy fair 2015 they will be showing off the two new adventure packs with the new elements.

I couldn't have said it better myself. In most games secret characters are a good thing, and keeping DLC hidden until its ready is totally understandable. However, Skylanders is a totally different ball game. We have to purchase each individual figure. It would be nice if we could actually find out what we're getting before hand. There shouldn't be any guess work involved in investments like this. The fact that they're still playing dumb all for the sake of a "surprise" even after it leaked just says something to me about the respect, or lack thereof, that they have for the people that actually play this game they've worked on.

Nail on the head. I'm waiting to see if the hold out might be until the US release. My wallet is staying closed specifically until I hear more of what is coming out so I can plan accordingly. If we still dont have anything by Christmas, I'm probably going to say my wallet is staying closed. I wanted a PS4 this Christmas anyways. Knowing what I am saving on NOT getting Skylanders I can actually probably get it, and a game or two.

Those guides get abbreviated more year after year. I shudder to think if there's any redeeming value in them any more.

Most the time in the past, If I got a guide it was purely more for a collector's purpose. The guides themselves half the time aren't helpful, incorrect, or missing base information. Sometimes the artwork is nice and worthwhile if the guide is cheap enough. It was also helpful if I wanted to play and didnt want to keep going back to the computer to look something up. However nowadays with everyone having tablets, its easier to keep that with me when I'm playing my console. Most the time I can find better information from other gamers making their own guides anyways. The day of the physical game guide are coming to an end.

Activision, and more closely Toys for Bob, are in it for money. We've known this since day 1. The concept of hiding bits of a game behind a curtain isn't a new one either; sidekicks kinda came out of nowhere with the first game, did they not?
Granted they were utterly useless and all of us are now aware we overpaid like crazy, but hey take what you will. Still, like I said in about 4 days, I'll see what I can turn up, pass that info onto the gaming community, and we can adjust our wallets accordingly. |

I'm playing the game right now, and there's still a question mark on the trap box AND IN GAME. First level and there's an elemental gate with a question mark! Eon tells you it has to be opened with a Trap Master of an unknown element.
