I like the whole button and stuff. But to me this is just a spec upgrade. I mean if I can still play most of the games on my normal purple 3DS then I really don't see the point into buying one. Especially when I saved up my money to get a 3DS to begin with.

This new 3ds will be able to play wii games on it.

To avoid confusion I feel that I should clarify that this is not technically true - the New 3DS models will not be able to run Wii games.

The regular 3DS models actually have some Wii ports already (see: the One Piece - Unlimited Cruise games), but the added power will let the New 3DS models get some (still downgraded) ports of some of the more system-taxing Wii games, like Xenoblade Chronicles.
(Also, there will most likely be a number of New 3DS-exclusive games that aren't Wii ports.)

Well seeing the price ranges I think I would be able to either save my self or coax my way to get a small loan of my parents.But they may not be happy since I just got a 3DS XL.

I can see it being New 3DS-enhanced, though, with a more stable framerate on the New 3DS models. Hopefully.

In that case, maybe Gen 4 remakes aren't as far as I think they are. Maybe they'll be out on the new 3ds, because Gen 7 is more than likely going to be on this system.

Gen 7 is most likely gonna stay on the Original 3DS, with added features to the New 3DS, similar to how they added the DSi features to Black/B2/White/W2 with the Camera for the X-Transceiver.

I would guess that Gamestop would do a trade-in deal where you can trade in your old 3DS/XL for a New 3DS/XL, or old 3DS for Credit towards the XL. I mean, I wouldn't do it because my Zelda XL is worth more than retail price of a New/3DS XL, but still
