Sorry, I didn't know if this was new or not. It's selling for $19.99 and ships for free if you spend $49 or more. The option to "ship to home" wasn't working for me though, so I'm guessing it's already out of stock? If I can't get it online I'll just pick it up when I'm in the store on release day.

This is why I hate preordering things... they'll probably have a ton in stores on day 1, but I just hope my clueless local TRU is smart enough to actually put it out, let alone put out any trap team stuff at all.

Is that made out of just cardboard or is it something nicer?

At this point I am going to wait for a full trap box with all the mystery villains. Since we know the poster is final, these boxes are probably too. I imagine they will release an updated one later.

Well I have 2 other friends interested in this box so we placed an order together for 3 of them. Free shipping. If it turns out to be low quality we can just return them. I really hope they don't go and release new editions of this box later forcing re-purchases.

No, nothing concrete. Since these look flimsy anyway, I may just make my own regardless.

I'm 99.9% positive that Activisions new money grab is going to be variant villains.....therefore, if they come in a trap, and cant be replaced or taken out of said trap, they will need to be held solely on said trap. Meaning, 1 more trap to add to a storage box. Meaning the power A solution will be a FAIL if you are planning on collecting variant villains. This has already reared its head with E3 shredder.

at the price that it is selling for, it'll be made of cardboard wrapped in thin plastic coloured to look like wood. especially with the brass looking embelishments, those alone cost more than the price the box is advertised at
It is a fairly common material used for storage boxes that fold down flat, i'm sure it has a name,

You don't know which element is going to have which variant , that is IF there is only 1 variant per element ( possibility of multiple variants per element, quite possibly multiple variants of villain <---dont say it hasnt been done Wash Buckler / Gold Wash Buckler / Dark Wash Buckler etc... ) . To start, most people are going to buy 1 trap per element. When variants start popping up you will have an extra trap on hand, in theory, should you decide to stick with said variant. In my opinion, the current solutions offer no room at all for expansion.......unless you buy multiple storage units.

i would prefer a box that sorts according to the physical traps rather than villains.
But it won't be hard to change either of these ones, it'll just take a piece of paper with some images on it.

Are the big box stores not touching this item? I'd figure most places that would sell Trap Team would have this online. It's not even on Amazon yet.

Does Amazon typically put stuff like this up for preorder? I have no idea. This doesn't seem like a high volume seller item (although it seems it should be) , so perhaps it will be up sometime after go live.

Based on the high resolution photo on the UK website, it looks like that one is definitely cardboard (look at the seams at the corners and the "hinge") which means they're both likely semi-heavy duty cardboard with a wood-like finish.

The box looks to be fully available for purchase on Toys R Us' site. There is now an "Add to Cart" button and there is no indication that is is not out yet.

I ordered mine online last week and package tracking says it should arrive in the next couple of days. As soon as I get it I'll post up some pics and my thoughts.

My only hope with the box, is that it isn't in an incomplete form as the pictures show.

Hopefully it looks very well organized.

I'm torn. On one hand, it's the easy solution. On the other? Buying some inch thick acrylic and drilling it just seems more up my alley.

Alright, I was finally able to open it.

..Nope, no new villains. The Light and Dark ones aren't there.

It's made out of cardboard: The outer box is pretty nice, but the trap holder itself is made of incredibly cheap corrugated cardboard.

Overall: NOT WORTH $19.99. I'd pay $11.99 at the most. Disappointed.

Did you get any pictures yet? Also, how durable is the outer box?

I know, but is it flimsy cardboard or is it fairly durable and able to be carried around easily? I'm trying to decide if this box is a good way to transport my traps because I may pack it for an upcoming trip to New York. Could it easily be crushed if it were put in a duffle with other things?

I just opened mine. It is not flimsy and definitely can be carried around. I am not sure it could withstand a child falling on it. I am happy with the purchase...will be better than having the cardboard from the starter pack.

The outer box is very durable. It's just that the Trap Holder itself is flimsy.


I forgot to add that there's a few strong magnets that help keep the box closed, so I'd be careful with electronics around it.

Nothing that a piece of foam board and a hot glue gun cannot fix. Just cut some foam board to fit the underside of the trap holder and hot glue it in place. Then cut the trap holes in the foam, If the dark starter pack trap holder looks better I will do that to it and then put it in the power A box.
