Like the topic title say is there anything we shouldn't show in a stream once the game comes out

If it's past release date, it's fair game I guess. Good luck if you guys record an LP too, be it live or not; only getting my hands in the game for that near the end of October because of international shipping... If my country's mail service doesn't make it disappear along the way.

But really the only worries apply to a preordered game or a broken street date, and even then Acti may or may not take down the stream.

If you're worried about a C&D, they really can't do anything after the game comes out. You can stream/show off anything. I would imagine however that hacking the game and whatever to unlock things you can't get to yet (because of restrictions from characters, adventure packs, etc) they could *maybe* you know, try to take your video down. But anything is fair game.

I would think that Lets Play kind of stuff may elicit a reaction from Activision since a lot of other companies have been doing it, but I dunno exactly their feelings on LPs, so I would potentially be careful of that.

Skylanders boy and girl do let's plays so I don't see why you couldn't.

Most of what I will be streaming is going to be Kaos mode cause I love tower defense games, though I will do story mode first

I did a full swap force walkthrough and not a single video was taken down. Then again, that was well after release, around January, and I edited Mesmeralda's song out.

Well I don't have many people watching my stuff so far, most I got before was 10 people. Though that was for a niche game. Probably going to do the first 5 levels in the game then do Kaos mode for a while on day 1

If you're talking about Nintendo, it's not as much as taking videos down, but claiming monetization - Acti did this a few times already. It's only a worry for big LPers who make a living off the money they get from ads, and in their case, it's easier to have an agreement with Acti so that never happens. Only thing to watch out in video LPs is stuff like music clips since the Mesmerelda fiasco last year where they took down a lot of SF videos of her level without explaining they'd repost it on their channel.

I recall that Activision sent out quite a few copyright strikes against YouTubers who posted Mesmerelda's song. SkylandersGame then put up their full version of it.

Since Wolfgang is a music based character, he could have some type of song. I'd be wary of what you post.

Well, one can skip it if he has a clip, or do silly editing over it so the full song can't be heard. Hopefully in a month it's clearer to know what might be this year's no-no if at all.

Did we ever get a reason for Mesmerelda's song getting copyrighted and not anything else in the game, though since it is going to be a stream through the ps4 I don't think I can edit that out

Because they have it on SkylandersGame. Why did they feel it was threatening their view count when most of these videos had the entire level and not just the clip is beyond me.

I do not get why most of the video game companies see lets plays as lost sales/threatening them when really they are free advertising to games that are good.

Pratically a lot of users other than the kids do let's plays.

Yeah cant really do that sort of thing since I'm using the PS4 streaming service, much as I would love to anyways.

Acti wouldn't take down the Twitch stream for once clip, though they could take down the archive's sound in that time window. In that case you can always edit it and reupload it to Youtube.

Anything you post for ANY Acti game is at risk. Chance it if you will, but I feel no need to help market their stuff and then get slapped a "copyright notice".
