Probably just to cash-in on the success of the franchise so far, they could have just as easily made one Mockingjay movie instead. As for the trailer, watched it and can't wait for the movies release in the UK!

Because Harry Potter's last book had two parts and it brought in a combined sum that only one film has ever made in a single run.

A lot happens in the last book too, though. There's a lot of important stuff, and I mean I guess they could've made it into one movie but it would have been like 3-4 hours long.
Of course, that seems to be the thing to do now. Make the last movie in a series two parts instead of just one movie.

mockingjay felt like it dragged on too much, i didn't really like it. i don't have high hopes for the movies

Eh, the book wasn't my favorite, but it was alright I suppose. I'm not sure how to feel about the movie, I isn't like the book. Although, Suzanne Collins herself was part of the process, so I guess it's ok but *shrug*

i'll probably end up watching them anyway, i liked the other books and the first movie (i have yet to see catching fire though)
